Jesus christ...so much negativity on here....we have been the better side in shocking conditions, away to a side in form, and its Milwall at The Den. Only 2 teams have won here all season . Give them some credit FFS....

Completely agree. Much the better side in dismal conditions. Can't say they haven't been prepared to scrap either.

Good away support given the kick-off time and conditions. Look much the better the side. COYB

Decent game.

Gary Gardner best player on the pitch so far

Aren't those assertions mutually exclusive?

Birmingham equalise at Bristol City 24 mins. The first goal Bristol have conceded in five games

1-2 courtesy of ex-Viler Weimann.  :D

Couldn't we have given them the same amount of the Smethwick as the home fans had against Boro?

Depressing state of affairs when nothing clubs like Palace can poach our players but ah well. Good luck to the lad.

Aston Villa have made a £4.2m bid to sign former Chelsea and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, 30, from Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Hope he does as well for them as he did for us

If - and as we know it's a very big if - he can be kept fit then it's cracking signing. Super player. Shame we only got to see him for about half an hour.

Several running battles outside the Brummie/Woodman Corner in the 30 minutes after that game....I was 14 and petrified!! Never liked Newcastle since.

There was fighting all round the ground as I recall. Nonetheless, neanderthals aside, if Old Firm matches are excluded, it's arguably the best away support I've ever seen, up there with us at Oldham and Pompey and Liverpool at Wolves in 76.

Pitch invasion from Newcastle fans wasn’t there? Think the match was ruled void even though Newcastle won and they had to play it again - went to three games in the end if I remember rightly.

The joys of Youtube:

It all kicks off around the 6 minute mark. Absolutely bonkers game.

First game I saw us lose was home to Newcastle in 5th round in 1974, 0-3. I was aged 7 and was devastated, and cried my eyes out, I didn’t realise that Albion could lose games, how wrong I was! 46000 there I think with about 20000 geordies at the game.

42,747 officially - far, far more in reality. Largest away following ever at the Hawthorns.

The other time we met them in the 5th round had a happier ending and we went on to win the cup. 61,088 there with 20,000+ locked out.
