Graham Dorrans Joins Norwich City
« on: February 28, 2011, 11:12:35 PM »
Took a little while, but has defintely found his feet and stepped up to this level. Looks like the player of last season, which in my opinion was one of the best for an individual player in recent seasons.
His ball to Vela in the last minute tonight was unreal, Xavi-esque. And this form is even more crucial with the decline of Brunt. If he keeps it up it might just keep us up.

I thought he wasted possesion quite often and still does not look the same player as last season but at times the things he does are simply astonishing. That ball at the end is out of this world. Find a better through ball than that and post it here please because that was world class.

Dorrans was class tonight, but I still feel he's not quite at his best. He did give a few sloppy balls away tonight, but his touch and passing skills are getting better all the time. He needs more match time.

Dorrans showed signs of his best last night. Keep it up Graham : )

I feel Hodgson may be having a good effect on him and others at the club.

That through ball close to the end last night was pure class.

He's definately having more influence in games, the fact that he's not running the midfield in games compared to last year is possibly due to the fact that this year is a step up.
The best is yet to come from Dorrans IMO.

Dorrans is certainly getting better the more he plays this season, hopefully it will continue and that he can get a couple of goals.

For me this was one of RDM's biggest errors,Dorrans is our best attacking midfielder and playing him so deep if at all just didnt suit and certainly not when he picked Morrison in the attacking role instead.

He was fantastic last night in the role he should have been playing in all season. It’s a travesty that Morrison was preferred for so long when you see the skill, vision and passing ability of Dorrans in that position. His ball for the Vela chance at the end was sublime and his all-round performance was like the Dorrans of old.

Exactly. I can't understand his team selection/tactics and this is why he is deservedly out of a job at the minute.

Really good performance from Graham, it was important he supported Marc Fortune well and he did that for me yesterday. Certainly is finding his feet and this is certainly good news. He needs to now keep these consistent in order to take himself to the next level.

Back to his best going forward, but woeful positioning for their goal if he had stood goal side of Delap he would have had a simple headed clearance.

I know he's out with injury and there was an unfortunate incident earlier on in the season but did we expect too much from him? I know some labelled him to go and score ten goals plus. Add to that he was out of position throughout the middle part of the season.

At least this season we haven't had to rely on him with other players steping up to the plate.

Did we expect too much from him?

I think that after the season he had last year the media added a lot of hype to Grahams first premiership season and he did struggle at first (possibly due to injuries and his personal problems at the start of the season). But just before his latest injury I thought he was getting back to his best and starting to look comfortable at this level. Hopefully if he stays injury free he might be the player we all thought he would be next season.

After last year i think that i expected too much, i thought that if he could do it in the championship he should be able to do near enough the same in the premier league. But i have realised now that they two completely different leagues, he can work wonders in the championship. But in the premier league it is much more difficult. But before he got injured he was getting back as good as he can be imo, hopefully his injury hasn't affected him too much.

I probably still expect too much from him. He's been out of the spotlight this year due to personal issues and niggling injuries/being played in a defensive role, but I think after a pre-seasons rest with his head down and Hodgson to mentor him he'll come back all guns blazing next season and make the attacking midfielder role his own with an impressive season  ;D

He's a very talented young lad and I still expect great things from him. He'll come back better than ever next season, a few months away from the game will do him the world of good.

I think most thought he would adapt quicker than he has done, as mentioned his family problems and injury's have stalled his development. However before his most recent injury he looked like he was finally adjusting to this league, an injury free pre season with Roy's management will bring us back the Dorrans of last year I'm sure.

I thought that once Dorrans had played a few games in the Premiership he would start to play really well and score a few goals, but with injury and personal problems that has not happened, hopefully it will though next season.
