What with 75 points? Very much doubt it.

I mean the momentum would be enough....that would be 7 wins from 8 and would mean beating Preston and Brentford ..
Sometimes there’s a very strong tendency on here to want to panic and not suggest we can actually achieve ,I get the feeling that if we were 10-0 up and the board went up with 1 minute extra...some would still cash out 😂.

We win the next four and we won’t be stopped .

It's now a three game swing with us at 7 points. Things are certainly looking positive. 13 games left 8 more wins for me that would put us on 86 points may even get away with 7 more wins.

Really cant see us blowing this now. Bringing in Robinson and Grosicki has given the in-form Pereira so much more space we are now creating a wealth of scoring opportunities...and we may have Diangana back soon(ish).

Goals will come and so will the required points...particularly from Robinson I think. Great buy.

I can never bring myself to say stuff like this, it's tempting fate, but that's just me... however, I think if we stay on the front foot as we did against Forest we should win enough games to get close to 90 points, no need to rush Diangana back and risk recurrence, but make him feel part of things, hope West Ham go down and be ready to make them an offer they can't refuse

With any luck we'll be promoted by the Newcastle game and can prioritise the cup  :D

Fulham in 3rd can get a maximum of 95 points, therefore we currently need 33 points to confirm promotion.

It will be less if they lose again. :P

at current points/game ratio we will get to 88 points, which would leave Fulham a margin of just 7 points if they win every game !  ;D :D

Agree with the sentiment. It wouldn’t mean beating Brentford though, not unless you have a different fixture list to me.

Another way of looking at it is Fulham who are currently in 3rd can get to a maximum of 95 points and given that Leeds and Brentford both play Fulham the most points they could get is 95 and 91 points respectively. This is the absolutely worst case scenario and would require us to pick up 11 victories out of 13 to guarantee promotion . But equally it would require one of rivals to go 13 from 13 and Leeds to win 12 from 13 and Brentford to win 12 from 13.

As each week passes you can adjust the points totals

The law of diminishing points states that as one teams points is increased, there is a point at which the marginal increase in another teams points begins to decrease, holding that all other teams points are constant. At the point where the law sets in, the effectiveness of each additional teams points decreases.

Hope this helps  :D

Sorry
Preston and Swansea

However on Brentford, when we go there I think they will have to attack....could be 5-5. But I fancy us to shade it

Don't forget for us to end up 3rd we need two teams to beat our points total and a lot of those teams will be playing each other.

We need our old gaffer to help us today at Brentford.

Watched them today come back against Blackburn - 2 immediate thoughts, Christ they are fit, and if they don't go up we should be in for Watkins

6 wins from now would do it in my view. May be less but 6 for sure.

Quick update

12 games left 9 wins absolutely guarantees promotion.

Most likely projection is something in the low 80's being enough as few as 5 more wins could do it the way our rivals are dropping points.

I think the points total required will be low. Today the teams in the play-off area struggled again - I just can't see any of them putting a winning run together.

We can't call it yet but it's getting close now. 9 points clear of third and with a number of them still to play each other. Us and Leeds now back on form while the rest are indifferent. January signings have made the difference and if we can win the next few i'd expect us to be focussing on the title rather than promotion after that.

Good thing is that it gives us breathing space to have a long shot at the cup

5 more wins and a couple of draws should see us promoted.
