Can't see Soton or Leicester being in issue next season. Ipswich have a pretty good champo squad so I'll be expecting them up there. I hope Leeds, Burnley and Sheff go up so there is better fight for auto next year.

Totally written off this season off for us now

Ipswich relegated and Delaps 30m release clause is now active - Romano

The boy proved me wrong. I said he would get 8 goals. He got into double figures, fair play!

Trent Alexander-Arnold has announced on social media he's leaving Liverpool. WBA Twitter demands we approach him  :P

He's off to join Real Madrid apparently.

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis goes on the pitch in front of everybody when the whistle goes and has a go with Nuno in public. Assume he is sensing the CL money slipping away.

Shocking really. Absolutely no need for him to do that.

The Prem showes why its grown all a bit too ridiculous yesterday.

Marinakis's actions for a starter, he has since released a statement to smooth things over but thrown the team medic under the bus. First European adventure in over 30 years and thats how they celebrate.

Then you have Spurs and Man Utd losing at home to cement themselves in the 2 spots above the relegation zone. One of the sides will win the Europa League and qualify for next seasons Champions League. Doesnt feel quite right.

Then you have Trent Alexander-Arnold, 351 league appearances, 8 years, 2 premier league titles (Liverpool's first for over 30 years), a Champions league (with 2 further runners up medals), FA cup, 2 league cups and a Club world cup, doesnt demand a move while under contract, but with him turning 27 at the start of next season, he wants to take up a new challenge playing abroad for the biggest club in world football having already won eveeything he can at Liverpool. Gets booed by "The most intelligent fans in the Premier league (Mowbray). Football fans entitlement at its peak.

You're right, it doesn't feel at all right. At the same time rules for qualification are rules for qualification. I see Arsene Whinger has had quite a bit to say about it. Well tough, it just goes to highlight the flaws of the 'breakaway' football concept.

They've wanted expansion in the higher reaches of the European game for years and this is the ugly side of it. Could prove very entertaining for the public in ways UEFA never imagined when either of those sides qualify for the Champions League.

As it stands both would get battered out of sight as would this season's Glasgow Rangers had they been competing in the Premier League this time around as mooted previously. Think unfortunate hybrid offspring of a Derby County/Southampton one night stand for reference.

The unintended consequences of expanding the Champions league is that they have hollowed out the Europa League and two teams which have stunk out the Premier League have made relatively serene progress to the final. It just goes to show the difference between the financial muscle that an average Premier Club and everybody else in European top 5 leagues other than those that habitually qualify for the Champions League.

However the biggest joke of all is the Europa Conference League. The English qualifier is so much stronger than any other team that is slightly embarrassing to be in the competition in the first place but humiliating if they don't win it.

I couldn't believe the liverpool fans booing Trent yesterday.
He's been a huge part of the success over recent years and given great service, very well paid and an England international,he does deserve a bit of respect,he's been at Liverpool for 20 years,he's entitled to move on and a change of club and country etc
What do the fans who booed him expect?
Just because he's a local fella that he must stay forever?
Pathetic attitude the few who booed him,he wants to spread his wings try somewhere new, like most young guys, good luck to him I say

UPDATE: Taiwo Awoniyi  has been placed into an induced coma and is receiving intensive care following ‘urgent’ surgery. Early signs are thought to be positive. Aim is to complete his operation tomorrow.

Blimey. Result of a delayed flag decision i think.
