California Supporters Club?
« on: February 28, 2012, 12:05:45 AM »
Hello all! I was curious if there was a WBA supporters group in California. I would think there is, as Albion played out here last summer, but I haven't heard about anything. Thanks!

How did I miss this?  ???

I have no knowledge of one. There are several of us from California who post here, however.

P.S. The Vile have one, if you're interested.  ;) They meet at either Mad Dog in the Fog or Kezar Pub in San Francisco.

Bummer, as I live in Southern Cali. Here's another question though: Does anyone know if Albion has planned their US trip yet? Or if they are even coming out here?

You actually want to attend a meeting of "AVFC California"?   :o

I haven't seen anything yet about a US tour for Albion, but I am fervently hoping for it. The Albion players appeared to enjoy it last year. San Jose look noticeably improved from last year and might impress the Albion a bit more. Whilst I'd love to see Wondo v the Albion defence or Lenhart v Jonas (just to see who loses his cool first  :D ), I doubt San Jose would play the first team.

I'd bug Quakes front office about it, but I know they're already in bed with Spurs.  :(

WBAinDEVON mentioned something about Mad Dog in the Fog being owned by a Baggie at some point. I asked some of the employees about a possible Baggie connection, but they knew amazingly little about football, considering where they work. All I could find online was a story about how it was a Villa :o pub ten years ago, and it's where some abomination called "AVFC California" currently meet to watch games.

I'm with Quakes on this I have not heard of any Albion fan clubs here in California. Where in the State are you Yank? I am in San Diego County myself. It was a good 7 hour trip for the wife and I to see us play this past summer in San Jose but we made a mini vacation out of it. It was a blast and enjoyed it very much. I could only hope they make their way back to the States again this summer but don't hold your breath I would highly doubt that they come back again for a second consecutive summer. I know of only (1) other Albion fan that lives here in San Diego he is from the Birmingham area and an ex-season ticket holder but had to re-locate here for his job. Good to see some American fans though!!
