That's seems like a very low number for any type of release clause. Pity Dowling didn't think to do something similar when we signed Kenneth Zohore......

Two years ago today. Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 v 3 West Bromwich Albion. Two Pereira penalties and a looping header from Ajayi following Bartley's head on during lockdown.

There were tears everywhere. A combination of pain and joy in thousands of households across the wider Midlands conurbation and assorted regions around this country and many others further afield.

Even in one of our worst Premier League seasons ever - we still took 4 points off them!

It was a bostin day wor it Dan. Watching some of the dogheads suffer live on youtube was a treat in itself.
They keep buying, and yet they let a little gem like Morgan Gibbs-White leave for £20M or so. It was another treat for me watching him score the winning pen at Forest and denying them a place in the League Cup semi-finals.
The Mix was full of 3-0, 4-0 predictions, deluded muppets.

Watching some of them on that group YouTube broadcast afterwards was classic comedy gold (and cack), almost as funny as the game itself.

It does seem odd just how much they are spending this season. Some eye watering amounts in the public domain with more to come. As with Forest, you do wonder how they do it.

That is i think down to owners who are prepared to spend money. That sadly is the difference between them and us.

Long for the day when we can do to Liverpool what they did in the last few minutes. 3-0 up and cries of "Ole!" as they stroke the ball around with ease for minutes on end. Impressive. Even if I say so myself.

I seem to remember us doing just that in the not distant past (the 3-0 skewering on Lukaku's debut). As for the future, who knows how long we shall have to wait? I imagine financial doping to the tune of however many hundreds of millions would certainly speed things along.

'That' goal from Gera. It's almost as though we haven't beaten Liverpool in the Premier League. Longing to be a Dingle? No ta if I say so myself.

Wolves announce loss of 46.1m for 21-22 season.

Due another whopper of loss next year too from this season.

Spent a small fortune just to survive.

Had a watch of Wolves v Villa today. I don't come from the region, so wondering if there is a lot of animosity/rivalry between the fans? A few renditions of SOTV about the only audible evidence.

Nothing to compare with when Wolves play us, or even the Blues.

There's a simmering herpes like irritation but nothing more substantial than that. Yet. Given time both sets of supporters 'should' come to realise they're pretty much looking in the mirror and slagging themselves off.

Self loathing may eventually set in for those with the slightest shred of self awareness but probably won't as self awareness isn't really a strong suit of either camp. They'll most likely remain content to reassure themselves they're both more massive than Albion and Blues.

Difference between Villa and Wolves is one of them has more jam than Hartley's, won the European Cup the year after 'that' misplaced Batson pass and the majority of it's other trophies before the First World War.... and the other won most of their trophies before our last FA Cup win in 1968 and finds hairy fingers an inconvenience at potty time.

They're like distant cousins at a family wedding where condoms are left at the door. They mess with each other and have a fumble after the slow dances every now and again but nothing serious they'd want to commit to given who the neighbours are.

I think as well, when you look at the catchment areas, we're sandwiched between Wolves and Villa, so act as a kind of buffer.  Hence why some Baggies see Villa as their main rivals, and some see Wolves - roughly depends whereabouts you're from.  Also explains why we don't have that much of a rivalry with Brum, Villa are in the way.

Witton is a suburb of Birmingham, hence chip on shoulder,
Dingleampton is the biggest shitehole in black country, hence chip on shoulder

On the BBC football site, it seems that Julien lopetegui's future is in doubt because of their financial situation.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/65687196

It seems they are unable to make the investments Lopetegui was promised. He claims he wasn't aware of the club's Financial Fair Play problems.

In some ways, he's done as good a job as CC, when you consider Wolves were bottom when he joined and now they are 13th.
