Every time I see Thomas Frank and what he has done at Brentford you can’t help thinking that Bilic had the platform to do the same if he and his superiors at the time hadn’t been playing silly buggers.
I’m not sure if he should/could return, but that season in the championship we played some good football,Diangana was at his best ,Pererira/Krovinovic etc
Maybe if Bilic managed and we got someone like Mowbray in to support and someone bc else look after transfers (Nestor)
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

Pie in the sky thinking there. Bilic with Mowbray to help him?! Completely bizarre as a suggestion in my opinion. Coach’s egos wouldn’t allow for that but there’s so much conflict that could come from that.

Tindall and Howe have egos and that seems to work ok

In what way were the platforms remotely similar?  Franck had a very sensible owner with a clear strategy and recruitment policy.

Bilic had Lai.  Nothing more needs to be said.

You’re talking about two people who have worked with each other for years and a man whose managerial career was player-manager at Weymouth for a short amount of time nearly 20 years ago and two completely separate people that have forged their own unique managerial careers. Completely different.

I am not claiming he will be our next manager but he was mentioned as a possible replacement for Corberan if he left, this was around three weeks ago. I would be very happy to see him back especially with a proper ownership structure behind him.

I'd rather Mowbray over Bilic personally.

I like Bilic but his career shows he’s a short term impact manager at best. He never stays anywhere long. Even for us the wheels were obviously falling off second half of his first season, we just did so incredibly well the first half we were lucky  to limp to promotion on a low points total

Yes Bilic never really impressed me over the whole time he was here. Had a good first 4 months.

All I’ve read is good things from their fans annd journalists and sarcy posts where they’re saying “he’s terrible you should steer clear” with tongue in cheek.

Swansea fans I know really rate him, but then they liked Russell Martin so I wouldn’t make much of their opinions. All a bit strange, those Welsh folk  ;D

Regarding Russell Martin - he comes across as an absolute bell, but Saints destroyed us 3.5 times out of 4 games last season and they played good football, as did Swansea. Are we having a bias against him based on character? Admittedly that character has undone him this year with the arrogance of not changing his style.

Swansea may have played half decent football under him, but the results didn't back up there being any substance to him and his Southampton side finished 4th in a three horse race, so I think as much of a bell end that he is which instantly puts you off him, as an actual manager, he isn’t up to much.

Grady, Racic and Swift gone end of season at latest. Wouldn't mind them and Wallace going in Jan for some funds to re-invest

I’m guessing Wallace’s wages will be too high for anyone to be willing to take him off our hands. The contract has to rundown before he goes I guess.

Sadly the same will apply to all of our out of contract players, the true rebuild will begin in the summer, but I would love nothing more than to get rid of Wallace and Diangana in this window

Wallace was quoted a few months back as saying he just wants to play at this stage of his career and would rather accept a pay cut to do so

I think Wallace is a man of his word, his decline has happened quicker than any of us thought probably, including himself.

Wallace is out of contract in 2026 not 2025.

Realistically the only way he will go  before then is if he gets lined out this month and does well enough for someone tintake him off us on a portion of his wages.

It was always a silly contract to give out but such was the short termism of Bruce and Gourley, a terrible pairing for a crucial season that will haunt the club for years to come.
