Unfortunately I don’t think that’s realistic. The nature of football management is that neither manager nor club is willing to build something together unless instant positive results are maintained for season after season. Carlos has done an excellent job and it’s the closest we’ve come to having a settled management team for years. His departure means we are more than likely to cycle through manager after manager now.

I’ve been impressed with the new owners, albeit things have gone a little quiet recently, but this will be a big moment for them. Can they bring someone in who understand the position of the club yet is willing to build.

May not be realistic, but it would be ideal to have a manager invested in trying. He would have gone to Leeds after 6 months of being here if they offered a proper contract…

Loads of credible outlets in Spain reporting it’s done.

Exactly that ,people forget it was only because Leeds decided to go for what they saw as a better option…that Corberan stayed here
Yes we are in a better position than when he came, but it feels like he has reached his ceiling and he repeats the same errors…
I’m hapoy that we get someone else in to move the club on again.

He’s constantly been linked with jobs since he started. It’s tiring, people say it’s his agent doing his job. Carrick has done a similar job and isn’t linked with every vacancy in world football. Happy to see the back of him and get someone in who wants to be here and build something.
Don't believe everything that "people say". He very much has been happy to be here and has helped us rise up nearly from the ashes to a much better place. He has done a great job, worked incredibly hard, and I think we should appreciate that. If the Valencia links are accurate, I can understand that it would be very hard for him to turn it down, but we will see soon enough.

I’d also be happy if we bring someone in to move the club along. But it’s hardly a certainty is it.

Probably as much evidence as your previous post stating that we would slide down the league if the current manager left ?

🔜 Done Deal! Carlos #Corberán will be new #Valencia’s coach. Agreed personal terms for a contract until 2027. He will be Ruben #Baraja’s replacement. Valencia will trigger in the next hours the release clause from #WBA to sign former Marcelo Bielsa’s assistant. #transfers

Well gutted but it’s been clear he’s wanted out of the club for a while with the constant rumours. Left the club in a better position than he found it & can’t begrudge him a move to his boyhood club. Thanks & all the best Carlos.

It looks increasingly likely that he is off to Valencia. Not all together a surprising decision on his part but Valencia is a bit of a mess and it will be hard for him to be judged a success almost regardless of what he achieves. Equally he is dealing with an ownership that is every bit as unpopular as Lai was here and just as incompetent.

Good luck Carlos you will need it.

Would make sense that would be about par for the course for Valencia's ownership did I mention they are about as hopeless as Lai?

I certainly wouldn't be accepting any reduced fee other than the one we set unless it was very close.

If their ownership are as bad as you say then good luck to him. He's leaving to go there on only a 2.5 year deal apparently.

Que sera sera…. It is what it is.
We have been incredibly fortunate having Carlos for two plus years with him saving us from what seemed certain relegation to League 1 followed by challenging for the play-offs one year later.
If he does go, we must be very careful with whom he is replaced - to Carlos we thank him profusely for his loyal service and wish him well for the future.

Romano saying they have paid the actual release clause. In that case I wish him well and thank him for his efforts. Tweet below from Romano just:

🚨🦇 Carlos Corberán, set to sign as new Valencia head coach until June 2027 as replacement for Baraja.

Release clause over €3m triggered and Corberán will sign for Valencia in the next 24h.

Clear he's wanted out for a while and would have been gone long ago if anyone had paid up so in a way glad it's done with.

Seconded
Great business getting him on his way and getting a fee, rather than having to sack him,pay him and his team off …

Terrible timing, but he's seemingly been angling for a move away for the past 6 months. He is the perfect manager to keep a side like us in the premier league and i'm surprised nobody made the move, but i'm not convinced he will get us to the prem given his slightly risk averse approach.

There are some good domestic coaches available on a free, but I wouldnt be shocked if you see Patel and Nestor go for a foreign appointment. A huge test of Nestor and the recruitment team's ability now, especially after a very underwhelming summer. Also a great chance for the likes of Diakite, Frabotta, Cole and a few of the academy graduates to get things going again.

I'm gutted. It feels like this season is a write off now, think we have enough points amassed so far to stay up, but can't see us finding a better replacement. The timing is truly awful as well with a hectic schedule and transfer window fast approaching. Massive test for the new owners now

Cant make someone stay who doesn't want to stay though, especially if clause has been triggered
