They might mean "match fit" which to be fair that's to be expected, he's returning from an injury.
He looked okay in his brief cameo at Fleetwood.

Nope, it's a senior loan so he can play for Walsall and our U23's

Walsall are so successful they do not need to play him so he is gaining little by being there.
In his few appearances he has scored a goal, got an assist and scored twice in penalty shoot outs.
He should be recalled immediately, play against Bournemouth then we should decide whether we keep him and introduce him to first team football in the rest of the season or loan him to another club.

I agree that we should bring him back. I’m not saying he’s good enough for this division but he’s gaining nothing by being at Walsall.

I think we have to bring him back too.  Stoke might recall Nathan Lowe, and that may see him get more time on the bench but he’s clearly not going to get much opportunity from a manager who barely puts him in a match day squad.

He's got to come back from them. Total waste of a loan for him.

If you're not getting a game at Walsall then you're not making it here.

Time to let him go.

Does feel that way. Think we have a 1 yr option but is there any point in extending it?

Devils Advocate here, In a top of the table squad who are on a fantastic run, would you take the chance of disrupting that?  You may well be correct that he is not the standard we require, but it could just be circumstances are holding him back.

He has been at Walsall since August 2024. In that time he has made three appearances in the league totalling 86 minutes. Of there 23 games he's only made the squad 9 times.

Even accounting for Walsall's good start to the season you would have assumed that he would have featured even if they were sub appearances from the bench.

Clearly, Walsall have seen something to suggest he isn't going to be good enough for them. A player at the age of 20/21 is no longer a prospect and should really be starting to come into his own playing regular game time.

There is nothing to suggest he has been injured either.

There's a good few saying let him go , not good enough etc, etc. Cleary is a natural goalscorer, something we have not had since Kevin Phillips. Corberan never gave him or any of the kids a chance, and he has been unfortunate insofar that his first loan was to a club riding high at the top of their league and scoring goals aplenty. He will make it ,if not here,  then elsewhere. Mark my words

Hopefully his failed spell there stops the incessant clamour on here for him to be involved in the first team squad. He’s clearly not at this level.

He clearly is a goalscorer but the problem he has always had and still has is that he carries too much weight, this means he is very rarely fully match fit. Walsall said the same thing that he just couldnt get fully fit.

Its up to him and only him now, get properly fit and shed the excess weight, hopefully then he starts to get a chance or continue along the way he is and never make it at a decent level.

I hope he chooses to put the work in as he is no doubt a goalscorer but we will wait and see which way he goes.

Perhaps he needs to have a chat with Grant about his coach

Now that Lowe has gone back to Stoke would it be worth sending Cleary back to bescot and see if he gets any increased game time?
