Just seen the Deportivo score. They lost 4-2 at home to Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid drew 1-1 to Levante yesterday at home. Bad result.

Just been checking the latest La Liga scores. Barcelona beat Getafe 2-1 to make it four wins out of four in the league.

Oh and Deportivo lose again, In the relegation zone. Not looking good for Pepe Mel, could be another sacking round the corner.

Realise this is a bit of an old thread, but can't see anyone else talking about it:

Ronaldo to Juventus for £100m. What are people's thoughts?

Only he could command that fee at that age. He is still one of the best players on the planet but is the most commercially value player to have ever played.

Still a class act even at his age, they will recoup a lot of the fee through merchandise and I would anticipate that he will make a valuable contribution to an already useful Juve side. They will get at least two good years out of him if not more. Real have done very well out of it given that they have had him for so long and still made a tidy profit.

Surprised he never came to the Premiership actually..

I guess down to the finances, saw something that he will only pay £88k tax on his off field sponsorships etc which could also have played a part plus the Prem is a lot more competitive that both Spain and Italy where its Juventus who win most years now.

Strange season so far in La Liga, early days but Deportivo Alaves top  of the table. Real Madrid losing at home currently to Levante 1-2 and have not won in 3, Barcelona not won in 4

Great goal from Messi to complete a hat-trick tonight. Opposing fans all around the ground bow down to him.

Hopefully the speculation of Alonso replacing CA  when he goes to Brazil next season is just that and instead they go for that vile Emery.

On a different note, as I couldn't see a copa libertadores thread, good luck to Flumines in the final.

Been fortunate to have been to venue of the final, although I didn't think it that impressive.

It's live on BBC 3 now for anyone interested.
