The constant under investing in the players over many years is the true cause of our dilemma.. We were fortunate to have Dan Ashworth, who papered over the under investment issue, and miraculously found s few players who flourished.
Ever since Dan has left, the club has struggled, the same under investment by a Chairman who is only interested in his personal financial position.
Irvine was a wrong appointment, I believe because he was cheap, the same as Clarke, Mel and De Matteo. Pulls was costly, but was made in panic as Peace was looking to sell and would lose a fortune if we were relegated.
My thoughts are that none of our managers since Roy, were made because they were the right men.
As for investment into the players, well we were 4th bottom last year, and whatever happens between now and the end of this season it's not been s classic.
Unfortunately, blame can be givento Irvine, Pulis, the players, all are not good enough, but the real cause of our dire situation has to be Peace.
