Bartley is better than Heggem, by some distance. Really missed him during his three game ban.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I don't know what's worse, the fact you actually think Bartley is better than Heggem, or the fact you then back it up with by some distance!

BUT I agree with the second sentence, we did miss him but that is because he is better than Holgate and Ajayi wasn't fit!

My lad's 24 and has a home season ticket. He does most of our aways and he can afford to follow England home and away (plus flights and accommodation etc; hic). And I need to pay £200 more than him so he can stand next to me at the football. I am definitely losing at life  :-X .
And your son is definitely winning at life too! Fair play to him, not jealous much!!

U21's playing at The Hawthorns 24th March, £10 a ticket for Season ticket holders, fiver for concessions, not bad at all! Only East Stand open at the moment to book tickets, might wait a bit to see if they open up behind the goals before booking but I will be going

Well there's a first. I've never seen the words 'upgraded' and 'Cruzcampo' in the same sentence.
Anything is an upgrade on Carling and Coors!!  ;)

Not at all!

If there are injuries - we are covered
Loss of form - covered
Suspensions - covered
Most importantly - options off the bench - covered

Also, it should drive them all on in training to be even better to keep/ get the shirt!

More the merrier for me!

Being in the Billiard Hall at EarlyO'clock on a Saturday morning may have compounded the situation in your head. Just saying. Boo to early kickoff times, not only are they inconvenient but they mess with your head  ;D  ;) .
9am in the Billiard Hall is standard practice looking at the state of some of them in there! :) I had a couple then 'upgraded' to The Sandwell for a free Bacon Sarnie and Cruzcampo for £2.75 a pint!

I think the fact we have let so many leads slip in the dying minutes lately, also compounded my beer factors! :)

I stand at the back of the Smethwick and you see a lot of people 'leaving early' most of us are not, we are simply going down onto the rail so when the final whistle goes we are straight down the steps and out, that being said I left out of pure frustration as soon as Wednesday equalised, with a typical #albionthat attitude in my head!

We could of done with moving a couple on as we probably have to many now , the spurs lad will probably suffer the same fate as the guy from west ham , especially when maja and Dike are back in contention
If hes good enough he will play, and the beauty is we will have options off the bench too, rather than Devante bloody Cole!

Percy:

Excl: #Wolves and #lcfc in talks over surprise swap deal including Conor Coady and Craig Dawson. Nothing agreed yet and discussions in early stages, but straight swap would see Coady move back to Wolves and Dawson join Leicester. Talks continuing
Not happening now apparently

If happy days is selling your best players who have come through your academy, I'd rather have miserable days.
Its the reality of the situation we are in, we were always going to have to balance the books, the best way is pure profit on the kids, thats the facts of where we are. The best we can then do is get replacements and if Armstrong is one, then that is a very good signing, along with the lad Bany its is the best outcome we could have hoped for as a club in my opinion

Dood:

"WBA wouldn't accept anything under 15m"
£15m pure profit to go with the Palmer deal up to £5m pure profit would be a good day, and probably the books balanced. Replace Palmer with Griffiths, keep Grant and sign Armstrong and the Danish lad, happy days

Doesnt say much

West Bromwich Albion are in advanced talks with Raphaël Wicky as they edge closer to naming their new head coach.

Wicky, the former Young Boys and Basel manager, has emerged as West Brom’s preferred choice after impressing the Championship club in talks this week in London.

A former Switzerland international, Wicky is a free agent after leaving Young Boys in March last year despite leading them to the domestic Swiss double in the 2022-23 season.

Wicky, 47, is understood to have held detailed discussions with West Brom’s board in meetings this week and an appointment is thought to be close.

West Brom are seeking a new head coach after the departure of Carlos Corberán to Valencia was agreed on Christmas Eve.

With the club’s sporting director Andrew Nestor leading the recruitment process and relying heavily on data and analytics, Wicky would fit the profile for the Albion board.

Like Corberán, Wicky is renowned as a coach first and foremost who can work in a modern football club structure.

During his spell with Young Boys, he helped develop a number of players who were sold for a significant profit including Fabian Rieder (£12.5 million to Rennes) and Aurèle Amenda (£7.5 million to Eintracht Frankfurt).

Since Corberán’s surprise exit last month, West Brom have lost only one of their four matches under caretaker Chris Brunt and are currently sixth in the Championship table.

Corberán’s successor will be the first managerial appointment for Albion’s chairman Shilen Patel, who completed his takeover at the Hawthorns in February last year.

Wicky is thought to have moved ahead of Liverpool first-team coach John Heitinga and former Manchester United coach Rene Hake.

In a recent post on his X account, Patel wrote: “I can’t say enough about how the entire club has shown up during an intense and trying festive period.

“The professionalism, resilience, and endurance shown by our players, coaches, employees at all levels speaks to the love and respect that they have for @?WBA and our fans.”

West Brom return to action on Saturday with a trip to face Premier League club Bournemouth in the FA Cup. They do not return to Championship duty until the visit of Stoke City on Jan 18.

Do you by any chance have an address or post code for that place please? I usually park on what was the Michelin site but this sounds better. Thanks in advance.

Bought mine last Tuesday, it arrived on Thursday no problems at all.
Looking forward to this as I always do. Park up about a 25 minute walk from the ground near the A50..usually manage to avoid any long queues of traffic (now hoping I haven't jinxed anything!)
We always park on the soccer 5 a side place and go in there, decent pie and a pint, loads of screens with the footy on and only a 5 minute walk to the away end, mixture of home and away fans but never any sign of trouble and very family friendly too

After the uproar last season from some for ticket allocation for this match I am gobsmacked at how many tickets are still available, I would estimate only half sold at the moment....

Well I for one have neither downloaded the app nor indeed want to, but I have received 4 emails relating to first four games. Ticket office says I must have requested this ..............I day honest. Anyway the outcome is , next week I shall receive a booklet containing paper tickets for the whole season.
Now that takes me back to 1969 when i had my first ST standing on the Brummie. The good old days. I'm lovin it!
Strange, I have just emailed the ticket office with regards to using the app and they replied stating:

If supporters have renewed and have not moved seats or changed age categories, then they will use there stile cards.

I believe SmethDan has been told it is coming in from next season though......

Maybe but it also means one of the supposedly top rank of young coaches thinks CT will be able to step in should Davies get injured at say the end of September. Just wonder also if Ipswich are going to play with 3CBs and WBs which would probably suit CT and definitely Davies better
The same top rank manager who has just spent £20 million on Liam Delap??  :o

Yeah brilliant news that we now don't have a left back. Not good enough for Albion (your opinion) but good enough for Ipswich who are now in the premier league. That makes perfect sense NOT.
My opinion too, he was a shocking defender, the fact we got any money for him is a great deal!
