West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Next Albion Head Coach

Don't like the Ryan Mason links one bit.

Going on their current form, Bartley, Furlong and the boys would have a field day with a young coach of that reputation.

I've been happy with him overall, but exceptional?

Still not convinced he's a left back to be honest, but I do think he's a useful footballer.

Exceptional - sorry, not seeing it. He's decent enough and I think he is one of them funny players that needs a specialist position (such as LWB).

As LB, he's, overall, played reasonably well. But I still want us to go out and sign an actual left back, somebody with physicality who knows the position.

Fine as a back up LB and general utility man but in too many games this season he’s looked lost. Absolute headloss to grab Sakumoto on a yellow and having committed numerous fouls.

Need better next season.

Only one who can hold his head high after today.

Left-footed CBs are rare, so bottom half Prem clubs should really be sniffing.

Scored a late winner and secured a massive win for Wycombe today.

We definitely need to make a decision on this lad in the summer.

Give him the first 5 games of next season with Heggem. Give them time to develop a relationship together.

It’s time.

Corberan doing a great job (as we all probably expected to be honest), setting that team up and slowly climbing the table.

However, yesterday they were battered (Real had nearly 3.5xG) so some context is needed in what was a fantastic smash and grab for Valencia.

I’m going to keep saying it: 2 goals all season (both of these coming in one game). It’s nowhere near good enough.

Regardless of the cretinous coaching staff, the loss of Josh has been massive.

I certainly agree with this but we have one of the best Championship strikers of the last 5 years in our team and we’re:

A) Creating nothing
B) When he has a chance, he turns into Devante Cole

Another reminder of what a fantastic decision it was to sell Palmer.

Wildsmith is nowhere near at it, a complete liability, for sure. It HAS to be time for Griffiths, who, may I also add, will need time to settle himself.

But Palmer was given the chance to play Premier League and had just over a year to go on his contract. Not sure what the club was meant to do.

Don't have much confidence in the team at the moment, but we are at home, so there's hope.

Must win game for me - our away form is utterly pathetic.

strictly speaking he has 7 goal contributions (5 assists), 3rd behind Maja on 15 and Fellows with 13.

I take that but I still think for the level of talent he has that’s extremely poor. He has a number of shots per game, rarely testing the goalkeeper.

Utterly terrible yesterday. He is becoming increasingly frustrating to watch - all the talent in his dribbling skills and agility but when he gets anywhere near that penalty area, he collapses like a deck of cards. How many more times do we need to watch him balloon over the bar?

Need more from him than 2 goals so far this season.

Don’t like him as a keeper and sooner rather than later he should be replaced. Yet, he saved us at the end with a few massive saves - Hull should have nicked it - so credit to him.

I described him to my dad yesterday as a keeper of ‘moments’. Seems fragile, inconsistent, but he does make big saves.

After a promising cameo he hasn't had a sniff. I imagine he won't see much game time v Burnley either. Think at home he's worth a go in the number 10 role

Mowbray got his subs spot on yesterday and I don’t think that bringing him on with 10-men, battling away, would have been the right sub.

He’ll have his moments here and there but I expect to see him much more next season.

Huge 3 points with that Burnley game coming up. A performance of grit, desire and togetherness. Loved it at the final whistle.

Superb performances by Molumby and Price (he really does look a tidy footballer).

My only grumble is how so many people can leave with 10 minutes left. My nerves were shot.

Understood playing him against Sheff Wed but I’ve already seen enough. An experienced football fan can get a good read of a keeper and he gives off an awful vibe.

Time to move on but I’ve got to say, Milwall (A) is not the game I want to be chucking young keeper in for his first start of the season.

Utter garbage.

Conceding 2 goals a game gets you nowhere.

Not sure this one is the keeper's fault but where is he going when that ball comes in? Creates absolute panic.

Like this lad.

Similar to above, the size of him surprised me. Had a bit of the Oli Burkes about him (only physically, hopefully...).

Loved how he mixed it up with experienced pros and showed some lovely touches.

A really promising start.

Get in there!

Yes, Bartley was an idiot. Yes, we were fragile at the end of a game again.

But how that’s the first thing people talk about when we finally win a game in the most dramatic fashion possible is beyond me.

For once, screw the analysis. COYB!

Could see grease the wheels for Kone if money is raised fpr a fee....

At 6million (the latest rejected fee) I think we can forget about that one…

Although there were several performance that stood out yesterday, I thought Diakite (again, against weaker opposition) is starting to show his strengths.

Perhaps this season is all about the slow progress, being in around the first XI, with next season as a potential breakout as many foreign players have done in the past in the Championship/Premier League.

Seemed to glide around the pitch, showed nice touches on the ball and Mowbray summed it up perfectly in his post-match interview: he strikes the ball (from the longer passes in the match and it appears with efforts on goal from past highlights) beautifully.

Looking forward to seeing more of him.

Yesterday was the day to start him IMO. No other central striker options, weaker opposition at home. I actually thought playing as the focal point, giving more space to Grant from the left or hovering around him was the way.

However, being on the bench was the final nail in his coffin. Needs a move and I'm sure there will be plenty of League One clubs, with his recent record, looking to take him off our hands.

They’re playing very well but this is - simply put - a must win. No excuses.

Brunt and Abele will never make manager level.
We scored and were in the ascendency. They took off a forward and put on Wallace to see out a draw.
I feel they let us fans down by wimping out.
This was a home match. OK, sometimes away, you play for the draw. At home you should be looking to win.

I don’t think that they put Wallace on to see out a draw by any stretch - but to take off Grady, who was having real impact at that point, seemed an odd sub to me.
