Genuinely haven't been paying much attention to Valencia's results or trends. I've just had a look and noticed they haven't won by a margin of more than one goal since beating Leganes on February 9th.

Having drawn 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano on April 19th they've now gone a whole ten days since their 1-0 home win against Sevilla. Looks like they're keeping things nice and tight at the back while not scoring many.

I wonder whether this low rate of goals at either end will lead to a series of draws in games with tight margins. And if so I also wonder how their support base will react. Grateful of a continued steadying influence or bored and disgruntled?

ElZippo is getting his Corberan out banners at the ready  ;D

I’m dreading the end of the season with them still. I can see them winning the FA Cup and getting top 5. God I hate them

A 1-1 draw away from home keeps Valencia well clear of the relegation places   ;D

I’ve just been on the Valencia forum and there’s a load of posts from someone called ElZippo stating that’s it’s one draw too many and that things have gone stale and Corberan needs to go  ;D

Its not Mowbray, its not.

Ultimately, two poor managers have had us tumbling down the league, one good manager has had us averaging fifth place in form during his tenure. All with pretty much the same squad of players. The manager is the most important cog.

I think many are realising that they should have been more grateful to have had the manager we did for two and a bit years.

However, regardless of that, we need to accept that the current manager is not the man to lead us forward though and the board have to act before the end of the season. He’s a man whose biggest achievement was to get us promoted with a very good squad of players assembled for decent money after we’d sold the likes of Koumas for a fortune, then he made a complete pigs ear of it in the Premier League. It never got any better for him managerially after that and we are talking 20 years ago now.

It doesn't state what the question was that he answered though.

Another sensational headline with an article with little to go on.

Read to me as a man using the previous manager to try and excuse his shortcomings. In a ‘we are so poor because the previous manager was so negative and played on the counter attack whereas I am trying to dominate games’. Either way, it’s a cop out and the statement of a man who is painfully out of his depth here and needs to walk away from it whilst he has dignity in tact.

I'm really not impressed with Mowbray's somewhat snidey comments about Corberan. Uncalled for and disrespectful in my eyes.

Embarrassing from him, really. If only he was half the manager Corberan was for us, be nice not to have lost 7 games under him and completely fallen away from play off contention

At last, a post that is laced with sanity. I’m bored of reading juvenile tantrums every time we lose a match, demanding the firing of managers and whole squad.

Well, yes, but by the same token you still supported Bruce whilst we entered the relegation zone so I guess your opinion does not hold that much weight when it comes to knowing when a manager just is not up to it

As suspected really, when he doesn’t have a world class coach telling him exactly what to do all game, he’s awful

This is correct; as with many players, they're suited to a certain type of role. A more rigid, structured system suits Mowatt more and Mowbray has and is moving away from that.

Mowbray has moved away from a rigid, structured system insofar as there is no longer any form of system whatsoever…if that’s what you mean?

Like I said before and under Bruce, judging the players under an incompetent manager is a harsh thing to do. They all need guidance and coaching, none of which the manager is providing

Don't encourage him pleaaasssseeeeee!!! :D

Don’t fight the feeling, Oldbury. Join my cult, it’ll make you feel so much better  ;D

But for the record, yes, I do believe I am correct and have been proven correct time after time. I was the first one calling Steve Bruce out for the fraud he is, never forget that. He had so much support until the very end when everyone but Baggie82 had turned

We will never know but I genuinely believe it wasnt going to get better.

I would never say he wasn't good enough for us, that would be ridiculous but it was clear to see that, for whatever reason, his time here was done so glad dto get paid for him rather than ,glad to see back of him'

Bilkul can't employ managers who cant play their own way. If they want to decide on formation, model.etc then they need to go out there and pay the money to find a man who plays that way. Not sign someone who is the opposite of Carlos and say play Carlos way

Will have to agree to disagree because I entirely disagree with your opinion and firmly believe that we would have finished 5th under him and been far better than we have for the past four months.

What we are being served up now is frankly a disgrace

Because I have no faith at all that the last manager would have turned it around. We were in decline and remove the first 4 games we wouldn't be on course for promotion either

Like I said I'm glad the last manager went and we got paid. Tony deserves to go for his failures but I can't see us getting paid. I only hope we can come to a mutual agreement where he doesn't cost the club too much money.

Two wins in his last three games. We were on the way back after the bad spell that most teams go through in a season that was magnified massively by people on here and on social media because that’s how it goes.

We can only dream of a manager of his ability now, and people didn’t think he was good enough for us. Makes me smile…or is that grimace

And is that any different to any situation ?

We win - the detractors go quiet and we have the holier than thou brigade

We lose - the detractors are vocal and the holier than thou go quiet.

Swings and roundabouts

Fritzl remains here regardless  ;D

Bet you’re delighted about that  ;)

They can be grouped together as they have both contributed to the season.

Where have I shifted the blame other than to the players as they as I keep saying are getting an easy ride.

Did I want Mowbray? no I didn't.

Who kept promising anything? certainly wasn't me.

People who are strangely quiet now as it happens…

We had a bad spell under the previous manager, insofar as there was a couple of months where we were drawing as opposed to winning, but we’d still only lost 3 under him by Christmas. It was nowhere near as bad as people are making out that it was I’m afraid. He also had comprehensive wins over Bristol City and Coventry in his last three matches, who have now beaten us and thoroughly outplayed us under the current incumbent.

The two spells are entirely different. We look utterly awful under Mowbray, we were never like this under Corberan

Its not wins though is it?

Was 2 wins in the last 3 under Corberan. I’m not sure you can group the games under the two managers the same as you seem to be doing, they are poles apart. Yes, the players deserve holding to account too, but things are just inherently awful under this manager as much as you seem to want to shift the blame away from him.

WLWLWLWLWLW was what everyone kept promising me, and entertaining attacking football. Where is it?

Time for change. There truly is no excuse anyone can provide now, 7 defeats in 16 games, it’s been absolutely terrible and has cost us a shot at promotion. Would start the search for the new man now and let Brunt, Abella and Myhill see out the season

You get the feel Tony knows the game is up in management.

This is our only hope, that he has some pride and dignity to walk away from the contract because otherwise we are paying up 2 years thanks to the ridiculous contract we gave him.

Tell me how brilliant a job the manager is doing and how he is clearly the man we need to lead us into next season…

Admin edit - not interested in petty personal point scoring.

And yet had to wait until the last game of the season to confirm that spot.

Not sure what your point is, we were in the play off places all season. This is on the horrendous manager we chose to appoint, the players proved last season they could attain a top 6 finish

Mentally weak squad. Been like this for years

So mentally weak it finished 5th last season under a competent manager…

Anyone else scared? So much riding on this, just don’t want to be disappointed again as I was at Bristol City.
