I can only assume that he was chosen because he was perceived as a good developer of young players.
Not until you have used all the old uns though , eh Tony ?

Personally I didn't think he was that good today really , he was slow to get out to Rodoni for the first goal and made a number of sloppy passes  especially in the first half.
Probably the only time he's been below par this season though.
But worth a mention eh ?

Like I said a few months ago if they offer 10m take it and run!
Then you would be wrong. Just as we were wrong to let Dara go for £7M , and Palmer for £2M (and don't anyone tell me about add-ons , because let me tell you there are none)

I have been a season ticket holder since 1969 but I would dearly love to know if he will be in charge next season before I renew.
Who am I kidding? I wish it was that easy.

Whatever happens happens but I'm pretty sure he's out of contract this summer. Can't remember whether we have an extension in our favour but if not either we offer him better terms than he's on currently with assurances of career development or he's off elsewhere.

I think we all know one of two places it's likely to be and neither of them are Hartlepool. Both have track records for picking up and developing our former academy players (even if it's just to loan them out and see what happens). That place down the road and Boro .

Blues are trying to raise income streams outside their norms and could also be an option. I haven't the foggiest what he'd have contributed to our season from the bench but it wouldn't have been any less than Cole has thus far.

I really rate him and I hope he stays, but in all honesty if I were him i'd be out of here.

Personal opinion disclaimer, JS plays well when we play teams that have good midfielders that are not focusing on stopping us playing but looking to win against us, this leaves him time and space. Playing against a block and negative side he has to collect spot and execute and he isn't natural or quick enough to do that consistently
That's my thoughts probably not expressed well enough
Ah so thats why he has so few good games is it ? Please Mr Nestor , don't let Mr Mowbray extend this lightweights Albion career.

Just had a flashback to 1967. And I wasn't even there. Imagine how those such as Iwuztherein68 must be feeling right now. There's a very cruel side to you Gaz', vicious even  ;) .
you are so right mate worst ever moment for me, but in those days as a team we always came back for more COYB

And that is where we disagree. Mowatt, Molumby, Grant, Swift, all started yesterday and all are average at best. And I haven’t listed the keeper or any of the defenders. They are not better than we are seeing at present.
Spot on Keith, and further to that Mowbray came in telling us how good the likes of Wallace , Swift and Diangana are and he obviously thought he was on a winner.
The old saying, "you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear " springs to mind.

Some on this forum seem to have forgotten the lad already, suggesting teams for next week, and omitting him just like Mowbray did today.
Why ?
Preferred Grady when introducing subs disgraceful

Have a look at the goal he scored for Hartlepool on Saturday. Now on the official site.
Nobody in our current squad could better that.

I realise this may not go down well, bt in all honesty one of the best midfielders I’ve seen in recent years was Moutinho at the Wolves.

Instinctively brilliant - hardly wasted a pass, anticipated situations, kept the team ticking. A really superb Rolls Royce player
.

It’s obviously a long stretch yet for Price to be in the same category, but it’s that kind of instinctive ability that really hits me. It’ll be fascinating to see where he ends up in the team as he develops, but he has all those inborn traits in his locker that screams “natural talent.”

He could turn into a real star - he just has those natural attributes. It’s simply talent.
Thank you very much for sharing that with us

He's a young winger and like many young wingers he lacks consistency. At the same time Tony Mowbray is Tom's fourth permanent manager since making his first league start.

Each of those managers have different styles and ask different things of their players. We as a club are also going through a period of transition both on and off the pitch in terms of recruitment, tactics and personnel.

Personally speaking I'd have been absolutely amazed if those circumstances hadn't had an adverse effect on a young winger's form when they've clearly had a huge impact on the form of more established players.

Tom Fellows comes across as a well grounded lad keen to improve his game and I'm confident he'll return to form soon. Here's hoping we put systems in place to get the best out of him because while he needs to improve his shooting he's unlikely to get on the end of his own crosses.

Great post mate. Frankly I am very disappointed with so many on here dismissing Tom and only interested in speculating for how much and how quickly we can dispense with his services.

Wrong time of the season to be chopping and changing keepers for me. Both keepers capable of making costly mistakes, and that is why we should not have sold Palmer, let alone given him away.
If we show lack of faith by dropping Wildsmith, what happens if Griffiths comes in and is no more reliable ?

                 Wildmsith
 Furlong Bartley Heggem Styles
        Molumby Diakite Price
     Fellows Lankshear Johnston

Leeds have amassed 44 points out of 51 available at home. By far the best home form in the league. That will be the size of the task. It seems unfair to drop Mowatt as he was our motm today, but I think we might need Diakite's bite in midfield. I'd go with Lankshear up top to help get us up the pitch.

I'd happily take a point right now. The only positive I see is they have a massive game Monday night so we have a couple of extra days rest and preparation time.

It would be indeed. Alex will be up for it going back to his first club

Taken quite a bit of stick on here lately , but as per usual on here no acknowledgement when a player proves you wrong. Excellent performance today along with Styles, Molumby, and Price.

Unfortunately there is no time for a rest.

Who would play instead?
I know mate, but Mowbray made no allowance in his criticism of the defence , so I made one for him  ;)

Styles often overlaps which as he is left footed is a good way of getting to the by-line and crossing.  Unfortunately unless Lankshear plays we don't have anyone to get on the end of it.

Millwall's back are large and uncompromising.  I can't see us getting a lot out of this.  Best hope is Swift having long-range punts and hoping for a deflection.
Scraping the barrel a bit there mate, but you never know. Personally I would prefer Swift staying cosy on the bench.

I'm not a huge Ajayi fan but at least he has more size and presence than Holgate.

I feel sorry for Heggem at the moment it seems like he's one man trying to stop the tide at times, everything around him is poor.
Top man Heggem. Bearing in mind he has already played a full season, being half way through his home season then straight into ours with no break.
The guy looks exhausted to me and still puts more effort in than the majority of our squad.
Player of the season for me.
