I'm prepared to stand corrected but there was no such thing as an International break-even as recent as 20yrs ago.  Just add it to the list of things that have deteriorated with time.
You are correct that there wasn't one in the UK. It was introduced because of lack of preparation time before international  games and late drop-outs due to injuries picked up in league games played 3 or 4 days before the international. We fell into line with other nations  by introducing the international break. Whether it's better or not depends on individual view and the club/country priority.

Bugger, much as I have a downer on Wednesday (big Dave) I was hoping that they would press the Rooney exit button

Livermore getting much praise after Watford's 3-2 win against Norwich last night. Man of the match according to the reporter on Sky. Fair play to the guy.

Ok he's been sacked apparently. Board not happy with 9th. Don't get it. That's about where they are for me on paper. Top 10. Not promotion candidates but a decent champo team.

Guess the board there have different expectations

Local journos there saying there has been tension between Mogga and the Sporting Director ( who signs the players  with or without Mowbrays blessing) and it's all become untenable

Swansea sacking Michael Duff
Yes Duff was known for pretty direct football in previous jobs which made it a surprising appointment in the first place given the Swansea blueprint of passing football. Mowbray to Swansea maybe ?

TM & Swansea would be a great match in my opinion.  (I still think he is a good manager despite what he did to us)

Very poor timing in my opinion. They could have done the decent thing and waited until after they'd played us. No sense of fair play or humour. Boo!
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

The 6th and 7th longest serving Championship Managers are Carrick and Corberan both of whom have just completed a year in the role. It is madness.
