Yep. me and many others saw we were sleep walking into a disaster by keeping Pulis who was only recruiting players over 28 on high wages with no resale value and criticised it over and over again.
We are now paying the exact price that many of us predicted
I don't think you can really blame Pulis at this point and it's been years since he left. Last season we had two players that Pulis signed/played - Phillips and Livermore. Phillips was signed at 24 years old and Livermore at 27...they weren't exactly 'old' when Pulis signed them.
During his time here, Pulis signed three players over 30 (Barry, Fletcher and Lambert) - whereas most of them were below 28 years old. You can check it

In my opinion, it's mostly been our business since getting relegated under Pardew/Pulis that has failed us. Since then, we have seemingly extended older players contracts too often which I agree on. Obviously, this has nothing to do with Pulis. In fact, I'd also say that since then our scouting has been very basic and lacking in creativity in general.
