Always maintained that if you give Hegazi the same run of games that Bartley was afforded, you will soon see the difference. Two cleans sheets against teams in the top six since he was reintroduced, no coincidence in my eyes. Bartley is a complete liability. He has been better this season, but that is only because last season was such a disaster. He has still conspired to gift goal after goal away for us this season.

I do find it interesting that Slav has now finally settled on his best team and it has involved dropping Bartley and Phillips as I called for a number of months ago  ;D

I do on this seasons form.
Hegazi has dropped lucky in so much that Bartley had a couple of indifferent games and was rightly taken out of the team, and the two games Hegazi has come in he has played against a team with virtually no attacking threat.
1 shot on target from BC and not one on target last night.
Don't get me wrong, I hope whoever comes in does well, but so far over this season Bartley has been better than Hegazi for me.

Played against teams with no attacking threat? These are two teams who are chasing the play-offs, and maybe the reason they haven't had many shots is because Ajayi and Hegazi have worked well as a team.

Neither of them are great players, but an on-form Hegazi is better than an on-form Bartley for me.

A fully fit Hegazi beats a fully fit Bartley hands down for me. No doh t a out it. Bartley and SJ terrify me.

The reason that teams are having less shots against us is that as a whole the team are playing further up the pitch and defending from the front. I've been impressed at the way we are now closing teams down. This wasn't happening 4 or 5 weeks ago

He will keep getting better the more miuntues he has, and his partnership with Ajayi will grow stronger.

Personally I prefer him to Bartley.

We are also faffing about less at the back and man marking at set pieces. All of which are changes influenced by our poor run, so full credit to Slav and his coaching staff.

If Hegazi gets to his levels at the end of last season, which he is getting to, and we get the same home results at that time we should get promoted.

I do not understand how anybody, anywhere thinks Bartley is better than Hegazi.
[/b]
I certainly did not say as much. I do however feel that Bartley has had a good season and that Hegazi has looked anything but good. The last 2 games however have shown that he is now ready to be the player he was last season.

One good game when he was not really under that much pressure v's a woeful season means the juries still out for me. He looked good last night but far to early to say he has rediscovered his old form or has adopted to defending in a high back line. Did enough to keep his place.

A woeful season? Really?

Before the past two games where he has looked back to his imperious best alongisde his correct partner in Ajayi, he had only started 5 games and they were not consecutively. How is someone supposed to get up to speed when they are playing a game and then missing five.

I do think Hegazi has had a mixed season so far, yes, probably down to lack of game time but he has to now deliver his best for the rest of the season.

I don't think there is that much to choose between Hegazi and Bartley. They are both capable of blunders. They are both capable of looking in command. At the moment the shirt is Hegazi's to lose. The competition is good because both know that if they make blunders, there is a replacement ready to step in.

He's there for Elmohamady i'd imagine. He is the captain of Egypt national team. Trezeguet as well.

Anyone know his injury status? I've searched online but can't find anything.

Hopefully not a lengthy lay off. So much more assured whilst he was on the pitch, the corner that we conceded from was just chaos defensively.

Why doesn’t he wear the NHS logo on his shirt? Second game in a row now.

Does anyone give a s***?  ::)

Am more concerned he let their scorer get in ahead of him 2 yards out from goal.

It’s been called out on Twitter, didn’t realise myself until I saw the tweet.

The lack of NHS badge is starting to pick up a bit of traction on the socials. Pat Frost says he knows why he didn’t wear it but won’t say. My guess is because it is a rainbow flag given the rumours in the past about his feelings toward a particular community that are represented by a rainbow flag.
