Ye'p I do totally understand the appeal of wanting to give villa fans false hope and then a crushing final day relegation.

But I think i'd prefer the last 11 games to be relentless 5-0 defeats.

I don't want there to be any doubt/excuses as to why they are being relegated.

Maximum humiliation please

He's 37 in April and would cost a bit of money. I know he's a solid keeper but isn't that sort of mentality what got us relegated in the first place? (hanging on to our older players past their prime)
Goalkeepers generally can be slightly less fit than outfield players so I don't think age is a problem. I wouldn't blame our relegation on Foster. He won us alot of points. What he gives is leadership and organisation to the defence, he commands his box and comes for crosses.  If we don't snap him up, you can bet there would be several other Prem clubs interested.

I loved Foster but would avoid him even if he was free.

Want someone to buy into the rejuvinated ethos of the club - Foster had years of the old style regime and will bring that attitude back with him.

Better to invest into a younger keeper than Foster  if we were to replace SJ

I would be looking at 2 new keepers one of which would be Foster on a short term contract the other being an up and comer who has a much bigger upside than Johnstone.

I'd be happy to spend a decent chunk of the budget on this position too.

Foster could potentially earn us enough points in the first season to keep us up, and give us 12 months to look for a proper long-term, quality replacement.

No brainer for me.

New keeper for me but not Ben Foster, that ship has sailed.

I also doubt he would come back.

Precisely why I don’t want him here.

He couldn’t bothered to stay around when he contributed to our relegation.

We’re not a premier league home for upcoming retirees

It was that same heartbeat he used to run away from us when we went down!

Watford being a bit naughty playing the the theme from Z Cars, which is Everton’s signature tune.

I suspect Liverpool will make them pay for the indiscretion  :D

I do like Nigel Pearson, regardless if they win, lose or draw this game.

Prefer Slaven obviously  ;)

Watford 2-0. The appointment of Pearson was genius.

I had them wrote off, they were dead and buried, as soon as they appointed him i said they should be safe.

Can’t say that I’m disappointed with that result as I like Nigel and Ben, no not Nigel Benn the boxer, but I do like him as well   :D

Read today they are having a meeting tommorow to vote on aying all remaining games behind closed doors and airing the games for free. Tbf these clubs don't need the ticket money to exist.
