I just tried for first time, season ticket holder in East Stand. After a short wait in waiting room I was directed to ticket sales but for this match it states restricted access and I was given no option to buy. Have I done something wrong??

Your seats will be in the "Reserved Tickets" section of your account.

Good to see that Rotherham and Albion have told Sky to do one - neither Good Friday or Easter Monday games are on the Red Button.

Has anyone had the new season card come through yet, or does anyone know if renewals are expected to keep last seasons?

In the FAQs on the ticket site it says they're only issuing new cards for those that have changed category/moved seats or bought a new season ticket.

I don't see how Albion could justify any price increase after this season.

Didnt the club offer a free cup ticket to those that took up the streaming option when games restarted without fans after the break. That should boost numbers

The photo ID thing is pretty pointless if everyone's wearing a mask.

How tight is it? Unfortunately I've become bedfellows with cheese and ale and cheese and more cheese since I last bought a kit (2013/14)  so I'm worried il look on the... Lumpy side. Xl is good fit for me t shirt wise so should I look at xxl? Or further?

I'd go for XXL if you're usually an XL. They do come up a bit tight ("athletic fit")

It certainly helps when the club shops are closed so they can have all their stock in one place

The only way to allow us to watch entertaining football is to keep entertaining footballers at the club. You wont do this if you're not showing ambition. We've lost out to players in the past who have gone to clubs willing to show they want to compete. All sportspeople and athletes are competitive, and they aren't willing to accept treading water.

We don't need to splurge to compete if we're able to bring in the right players, and keep hold of players that can make the step up to the Premier. I'll accept a bit of yo-yoing provided there is a plan in place (look at how Burnley treated their first season after being promoted... They took the money invested it and came back from the subsequent relegation stronger and have held their own since then.

This is the Aussie ref who moved over to the UK to do his studies up near Preston.

BT Sport shared a video online of him wearing a mic during a game in the A-League.

Quick heads-up for anyone looking to travel into London by train, there are no trains into Kings Cross that weekend, so other routes into London may be busier than usual. It may also mean that there are less advance tickets available than normal

Hi all. Can anyone tell me if sky have messed about with the forest game on the 15th. It still says sat and it’s not appearing on thier listing of live football. Just trying to organize a day out Sunday but worried it may be moved to Sunday

Chosen for Sky, but now a 12:30 kickoff on the Saturday, so you can safely plan your day out

Just a word of warning, it's still possible for the game to be moved to the Sunday, even if it's not being televised live. I wouldnt book anything until the club confirms the date

Just because a player goes down in the box doesnt mean it's necessarily a dive. When you're running at pace, it doesnt take much to throw you off balance. Trying to avoid a goalkeeper rushing out, could certainly do it.

While I dont think the penalty last night should have been awarded, I don't think Edwards dived either.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Under 23's / Academy Thread
« on: July 09, 2019, 12:33:53 PM »
One of the problems with our academy is that in the past the structure/coaches had been there for a long time, and were well trusted, so could give genuine advice on whether a player was ready for the step-up. By going cheap on the first team management, the club has lost Darren Moore and Jimmy Shan from the setup completely, leaving it with less experienced coaches, and removing some of the clear pathways that previously existed.

I wouldnt be surprised if we were very tight when it comes to wages of the young players, relying heavily on appearance/performance bonuses rather than wages, whilst also being very negative towards players' agents. All this is bound to push the players' representatives to recommend them move elsewhere, which will generate the agent more cash in the short term, with little regard to the player's ongoing development.

Why should a player be loyal if the club doesn't show they respect their talent?

I've heard rumours that Man City may be expecting some kind of youth transfer ban in the near future, so I guess this is one of the steps they're taking to avoid the impact.

It's sad that young talent is going to be wasted by a club hoovering up players like a twisted game of monopoly, rather than getting real game time in competitive leagues

Yes I agree Tipton, but I went online on day one of the re-release of tickets and they were already sold??? Just find it hard to swallow.

It was probably taken by an existing season ticket holder who wanted to switch seats. They had the opportunity to do that in between the sales windows.

Did nobody read this?

It doesn't really set out much. The worst bit from it is the line: "“We want to put 11 players out there with a Head Coach leading them that represent West Bromwich Albion Football Club."

Surely 11 players and a head coach is the minimum we need. We're currently a bit short on even reaching that goal. We have had 3 months to sort out our head coach and we're still waiting patiently at the back while everyone else comes in and picks up the available talent.

Any one know anything about having to  have photo on new
Stole cards , is it particularly groups or everybody

Photos are only needed for concessions. If you already have a photo on your account, they'll use that again. They wont send out a concessionary stile card without a photo.

I think it will depend on the opponents (allocation etc) but I'd take a look at the Derby sales criteria as a guide, I cant see it being much different to that one.

Albion Assembly twitter account currently doing a bit of a 'holding exercise' about when the minutes might be released and why it is taking so long

It's taking so long because they dont actually issue real minutes in the true sense of the term. By the time the bigwigs and PR department of the club have been through them, all we get is a toothless summary of what may have happened in the vaguest possible terms.

It also raises another issue. I think the law needs to change and put some responsibility on the girls who chase and pressure men into things like this. Yes, guys shouldn't even put themselves in situations, but I used to work at a secondary school and I had to deal with a lot of issues where the girls used to use their older sibling's driving licence to gain entry to night clubs. So even if a guy thought "she's hot but she looks young", she's inside an 18+ night club so the guys wouldn't think anything of it.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with this at all. The responsibility lies entirely on the adult in this situation. The law is there to protect minors as they are not old enough to give their consent, even if they think they are "grown up" enough to be in those places.  I'm not saying you should be checking for ID, but you can't be laying blame/responsibility on the victim.

I think the recent Season Ticket renewal debate has proven that the Assembly is not fit for purpose. If the club don't view this as a subject for interaction with the fans, then I'm not sure what they do view as important.

Fans should be consulted when decisions are made that affect them, I get that there are times where the club's wishes don't line up with those of the fanbase, but if you're going to push the "Albion Family" line all season, you need to act accordingly. Fans don't give up their time just to complain about the PA system, the rubbish bins around the ground and the puddles on on the Brummie Road.

I still can’t see what he was supposed to do when he had two players coming together at him, other than to go through them. With the tackle coming in it’s natural instinct to try and jump over it. I’ve seen more blatant ones given without the trial by tv and consequential FA charge.

Having said that, now the FA have publicly called him a cheat, there’s no way they’ll let him off unless the club can find a legal reason to avoid a ban. I think we should appeal

I’m worried Gayle will be banned for diving!
I think there’s enough to suggest he was entitled to go down (maybe a touch on the back foot). He didn’t have many other options than to go through between the two players coming together. It’s then down to the ref to decide if it was a foul or not.
