I've always rated MacManaman and disagree with TP's choice not to use him, but there's pretty good depth at the position so I don't sweat it. Would much rather see Leko get minutes off the bench (if he's not going to go out on loan)
For me leko is nowhere near a premier league player yet

Have to agree about leko. Watched him at Walsall tonight and 1st half he constantly gave the ball away cheaply. I understand wingers have to try to take full backs on. But they have to keep possession also from time to time. He improved 2nd half mind

After being at Burton last night, we can't go into another season with Rondon as the main forward. I know it's only a friendly but he struggled last night for majority of the game. Simply isn't very good.
We looked better with JRod playing as the no9, it forced us to play a different way with the ball on the floor, and not just hoofing it long all day!
Like others have said McManaman looked positive going forward wanting to drive forward with the ball. Got back and defended ok too.
Hegazi was the best player on the pitch by far last night. Early days but looks a good buy on preseason showings

not just Pulis though, he only managed 2 starts on loan at Sheffield Wednesday (and 9 more sub appearances)and they don't seem to be interested in buying him either. If he can't make an impact in the Championship why would he  in the premier League?

Only seen the highlights but it seemed like a lot of our attacks came through Chadli in the first half, who seemed to be lively.

Rondon's touch noticeably poor

I thought Chadli looked much more involved, some nice touches and a lovely chipped pass for (Rodriguez?).

Rondon looked more lively in the highlights than he did for much of the last half of last season and I thought his shooting was less wayward than usual (still poor though)

Thought Rondon worked really hard considering it was a friendly. Hegazi looked good & it was interesting watching him as the middle centre back ordering Evans & Dawson around. Thought the use of Phillips as a wing back was a waste of his talent but interesting nonetheless to see us experiment in the first half with a 3 5 2 formation. Couldn't tell in the 2nd half but looked like we went back to 4 4 2 until Rondon went off.

I think you've summed up the problem with forming an opinion based on highlights (which I did) as I never got to see his whole game.

I went!!

that's what I meant, you saw more of Rondon than just the highlights that I'd made based my opinion on.

His 1st 2nd 3rd touch were poor! Passing was poor and he fell over 2-3 times when he lost the ball trying to take someone on and failing!
There's a difference between working hard and running around aimlessly! And he was the latter. (Rondon)

Hegazi looks a decent player, very assured on the ball and a decent passer, could turn out to be a shrewd signing for a relatively small fee.
