What a little scrote. I wish him nothing but ill if this actually happens.

Double ACL would be justice.

What leaves me inebriated off is Barca just pocketing ca £3 million from Villa.
I can believe the kid might have got homesick or whatever at the age of 16, so Barca  probably didn't do it as a sordid money making stunt. Nevertheless, leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Frankly, if Barca haven’t paid us then the deal should be void and he comes back to us.

That would be fair but he's burnt his bridges here now. Least we would get a morte appropriate fee but not going to happen.

I hope he just fails like, as I do with everyone that leaves us like he did.

At least we got £4m eventually, for Ugo, but this just stinks.

Why would Villa need to pay £3m - if he hasn't got a professional contract can't he just leave and join Villa? Surely Barcelona aren't entitled to anything as we are the only club who have invested in his development.

Disgrace - we were due £235,000 and haven't received it.

How can he move on when Barca haven't paid for him?

This doesnt sit well with me as it can be taken advantage of far to easy. For example if spurs wanted Ferguson but didn’t want to pay the tribunal fee of say 5 million, what’s stopping them from getting an overseas club to buy him for 300k or whatever the price is set at then agree to pay 1.5 million? I’m not saying Villa have done this but you can see how agents and clubs could work it

I assume if he does join Villa that part of the contract will see Villa settling the debt.

I struggle to comprehend how he can be a Barca player if they refuse to pay the monies.

Fair play to him in moving abroad and trying something different - he’ll now get his dream move to them. Personally, I hope he flops

Very good point. This potential loop-hole must be stopped.

FAO moderators - can I ask why a number of posts from between July to January have been removed?

I mentioned that Albion would go nuts when Barry returned and this was a few weeks ago.

There’s nothing in the deleted bin to suggest any posts have been removed from this thread.

That was my thoughts as well Liam. How can he legally be a Barca player when they have not paid any money for him. Pretty pathetic behaviour from one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I’m going to buy your house outright, sign the contracts & then not pay you a penny

Laughable it is.

Leicester did it with George Hirst. Not sure that legal battle has ever been resolved

This is all too neat. Move to Barcalona for nominal compensation, yet 6 months latter up he pops at the Vile fee £1.5m. This is without Barcalona even having the decency of settle the compensation. There might be some innocent explanation but frankly I somehow doubt it.

I hope he disappears into football obscurity.

They did to an extent - but Leuven had already paid the money for George Hirst. What happened following that is debatable as to whether it is morally correct.

The big issue in our case is that Villa are signing someone who Barcelona haven’t paid for

I hope someone tops him on the pitch .... a long time on the sidelines might show him some decency

Personally I think we should be able to demand him back. You don't buy something from the shop, pay your money and the shop keeper ask for it back.

Wow there really are some bitter people on here, wishing him a serious injury is a disgrace to be fair.

Two points, we poach youngsters all the time from smaller clubs and I dont see anyone complaining about this, also if you are 16 and not an Albion fan and you can go to Barca and make your family for life what would you do?
