Let him say all he wants to say, performances like yesterday from him speak volumes on our behalf, his legs have gone.

If he has lost his legs give the club credit, the same with Lescott timing seems perfect.

Highly respected leader when here. Don't mind giving him his first foot up. Could be ideal.

Going on the original athletic article about the academy though, I think he has been brought in as he agrees with Dowling's world view on academy players knowing their place.

as opposed to bringing someone in who would work against the system in place?

Never understood the love in with him as a player but that is hardly relevant here. I have no problem with the club giving him a start with a coaching career but nor am I particularly excited by it.

Think he speaks brilliantly in the interview. Can only be a good thing I’d have thought.

Anyone who went through the United academy, especially in that era then going on to achieve the honours he did, this experience and wealth of knowledge can only be a good thing, quite happy with that.. can't imagine too many young players not listening to him or taking his advise in all honesty

Got a lot of time for Darren Fletcher. Talks a lot of sense. Met and chatted with his dad on an away day. Sound fella. Darren's got a wealth of experience in the game and comes from good stock. Happy to have him learning his coaching here. Hopefully he can have a positive influence on those he's involved with before continuing his career in the game.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
