Numo bumping his gums about lack of transfer activity and Moody's have downgraded Fosun, citing weak liquidity as a decisive factor. Things are not rosey at the custard bowl.
By the time we play them NONO will have departed along with at least 3 of their better players....the toothless fans will be holing with derision when HRK steps off the bench to make it 5 😀
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

I don't want to jump in too soon here but the signs are that Fosun have turned the tap off. This is going to be interesting if they have.

You could be more right than you know.

I hope so, anyway 🍾👏🏻

With Doherty going to Spurs and Troare/Jimenez probably going too they will be without their 3 main players - however they still have a good spine and the sale of those 3 will bring in over £100 million.

At that point it will either be re-invested and they'll be fine or we'll see what's really going on. Even if they did sell those 3, they'd still have a really good team with players like Jota, Neves, Moutinho and Coady so it's not like they'd be looking at relegation.

Their current levels of spending were unsustainable. 180m net over 3 years. Jeezus.

I imagine Fosun will be selling off the top 2/3 players and only giving half back to the club for replacements. Still should be ok long term, fade into midtable but will remain PL no doubt.

Wouldn’t be anything to do with lining Jorge Mendes’ pockets, would it? 😳

Hasn't he only played 18 professional games too?  Of course Mendes has no actual say in transfers over there.  I also have some magic beans to sell too.

Absolutely shocked they've spent a massive chunk of their budget on an 18 year old striker when they need a LWB and a RWB.

As I said earlier, they’ve sold £75m worth of players during the summer, so are still £40m in profit on transfers after signing Silva so think there is more to come

Portgual are one of the best football producing nations on the planet and they clearly think Silva is an exciting talent, but for Wolves to spend £35m on an 18 year old striker with 1 senior goal to his name (in a cup game no less), that feels like a huge gamble a club of their size shouldn't be taking.

It might work out, most of their signings do, but it's incredible money really.

Problem is, it sends the message to Portuguese clubs that PL clubs are rolling in money.
Could well have knock on effects for Krovinovic.

Jorge Mendes has a fairly unique vested interest in wolves through the forsun connections. Where it hasn’t ended well with clubs he’s got in deep with in the past I think the situation with wolves is a lot closer and he’ll be more careful not to burn them.

He only seems to have helped move genuine talent in to wolves so far so at the moment there’s no reason to assume Silva is any different. It is a lot of money though.

Signed a 31 year old fullback. Surely this goes against their model? Poor signing imo.

Fosun International own a 20% share in Jorge Menses’ holding company. There’s your vested interest.

It’ll all end in tears though.

They don't think anything. They've been told to pay that much by Mendes. This is just Wolves pulling a Bebe.

Thats how the guy works. He's probably the most corrupt man in football and his clubs will move money round like a merry go round so you'll horrifically overpay for some players and in return he'll sort you out with some players who would otherwise be out your reach. And soometimes that means selling a Mendes client for far less than market value, like they did with Doherty, so in return you'll get the odd bargain like Neves.

DEAL DONE: Wolves have signed Vitinha from Porto on a season-long loan with an option to buy for around £18m. (Source: @Wolves)

I hope you're right, but i'm not as confident.

Wolves fans are all getting pretty excited about Vitinha and Fabio Silva. They will have enough countrymen around them to ease the transition and they seem to have half the Portuguese national team playing for them now, with the national side looking a genuine threat for next years Euro's.

I couldn't take it if they got even better this year, particularly with my expectation that we will struggle.

https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2020/09/10/revealed-9m-of-wolves-record-transfer-fee-going-to-agents/

In a statement to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission, Porto said they are paying Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency £6.4m as part of the transfer.

They also stated a further £2.75m will be paid to Soccer Talents Vision (STV) – the agency which represents Silva.

Porto, by the statement, stand to receive around £26m.

Wolves have close ties to Mendes and his Gestifute agency.

And according to Porto’s statement, a sizeable chunk of Wolves’ record transfer fee is said to be making its way to his organisation, even though he is not Silva’s agent.

Boss Nuno Espirito Santo is a client of Mendes.

How is that possible when Mendes isn’t even the players agent ??

There is a decent twitter thread from Tariq Panja this afternoon that's worth looking at. Goes into a bit more detail.

In the case of Fabio Silva, his dad is apparantly his agent and he has made a fair chunk on the deal too. Matt Doherty is also a Mendez client so Mendez had every party at his mercy for that deal.

Wolves fans wont care as it doesn't seem to be doing them any harm, but it is all very shady.
