I see that West Ham have signed Hernandez for £16m. I think that is a smart bit of business to be honest......

Great signing for them. £16mil a bargain as well.

Would have liked us to have been in for Hernandez but he wouldn't fit our current style of play.
Weirdly he had something like a 4 month barren spell last season but still managed to score 11 goals in 26 games in the Bundesliga.

If he goes four GAMES without a goal that lot will be on his back.

Fun fact stolen from Twitter:-

"Chicharito becomes 33rd striker West Ham owners have signed since Jan 2010. Twenty of them didn't score more than three goals for the club"

I'm sure I saw that debunked somewhere because it includes youth players who have made a sub appearance off the bench

It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

Hernandez at £16m is a great deal for West Ham even on 145k a week. he's 5th on the all time goals per minute ratio at premiership level so say sky sports.

Izzy 'back' at the Albion!

Bit bizarre that Huddersfield haven't taken him on loan.

Maybe the memory of the open goal he missed in the play off final is still fresh in their mind? :D

A snip at £16m but no way would the club have paid those wages. Would loved to have seen him here.

They'd been trying to sign Izzy permanently which would have also bolstered our transfer kitty, not sure why that's changed?

Not sure on Chicharito. Wont get the service he's used to at West Ham. Reminds me very much of Falcao. 10 goals will be a good return imo.

I'm not convinced by the Chicharito deal at all West Ham are paying an awful lot of money in wages and fees upwards of £11m a year for 3 years. For a player who has just turned 29 and is in the worst form of his career and does one thing well but doesn't offer much else.

Koeman has confirmed that Barkley has no future at Everton and they've had no bids so far. Is he someone who would fit in for us?

Doubt he'll actually get that anywhere though. Realistically he's not going to any of the top 6, so that leaves the likes of us just below. Crying out for a creative midfielder who can drive forwards

The reason Barkley is going is because he thinks he's bigger than Everton, he won't come to us in a million years. He'll be at Tottenham by the end of the window.

I wouldn't be so sure. The player can think all he likes, but I don't think he'll be going to anyone bigger than Everton

Not sure midfield is a position Tottenham need to strengthen in, also Levy has been in the press condemning the prices of payers this transfer window so I'm not sure he would want to pay Everton's asking price which I'm guessing would be similar to what Swansea want for Sigurdsson. I can't see him coming to us either more likely West Ham.

Ross Barkley will be this summer's Berahino. Endless speculation without going nowhere but downhill. Player thinking he is bigger than his club who seem prepared to stand their ground. World cup year too.

Difference is that Everton have said Barkley can leave, we repeatedly said Berahino wasn't for sale.

If someone matches their valuation? Is that not essentially what we said but the "not for sale" pushes the valuation price up.

From Koeman's interview it sounds like he's not going to play for them again. Question is where can he go. As I said earlier I can't see any top six sides going for him. They all have midfield positions pretty covered:

Chelsea: Kante, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Willian, Pedro, Hazard
Man City: Toure, Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Bernardo, Fernandinho
Man Utd: Pogba, Mkhitarian, Herrera, Mata, Fellani, Lingard, Pereira
Tottenham: Alli, Eriksen, Dembele, Wanyama, Lamela
Arsenal: Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xhaka, Ramsey, Iwobi, Coquelin
Liverpool: Coutinho, Salah, Lallana, Wijnaldum, Henderson

Saying that, I still can't see us going for him. Shame because I think he's a good player who can certainly create things, chip in with goals and drive the ball forwards
