In fairness none of us know the full situation regarding Garner but Megson is currently in charge so what he says goes. Hopefully it'll only be one or two games before they get someone else in.

I could name a dozen blokes who stopped going because of Pulis, so yes, to some extent he was.

Are they all going to suddenly reappear now he's gone though? I definitely feel some used Pulis as a convenient excuse to stop going.

Good to see nothing has changed with him over the years.

If people want to hold a real protest then stay back after the game and make your feelings clear but try and get behind the team during the game. I don't believe anyone truly wants us to do poorly in the hope that he'll lose his job because of it. Realistically I expect the atmosphere to be pretty normal but would change immediately were we to go behind.

Agree entirely. I've not been to an away game since Pulis took charge, but I certainly wouldn't be going to them at the minute because you know exactly how it is going to play out, it is not like the 'football' over recent months hasn't been the same every week.

I will be going to the game on Saturday in hope that we somehow manage to sneak a result, but largely to watch Man City play as they are a joy to watch, whereas we are an utter embarrassment to watch currently.

I only go to home games at the moment as I've already paid for a ticket and the people around me who I only see at the games try to have a laugh regardless of the crap on the pitch. My days of spending thousands every year to follow us away are well and truly over but come the end of the season it may well be my last year as a season ticket holder too.

People can complain about the money it cost them to go and watch the match but they can't expect a refund when they knew exactly what kind of performance they were going to see, its not like it was a one off. People have the choice whether they want to spend money to watch that crap.

We had what most would agree was a friendly fixture list for the start of the season, we simply haven't taken enough points from those games so it is going to be a real struggle this season now. This is the first time I can actually see the board start to get twitchy as our form is absolutely pathetic and if that continues the club is only going to go down and we all know we can't afford that.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Claudio Yacob
« on: October 23, 2017, 09:47:39 AM »
Yacob should be one of the first names on the team sheet in my opinion. We all know his limitations with a lack of pace and his questionable passing ability if he tries to knock it more than 10 yards but no one protects the back four like he does. We always look more solid with him in there shielding the back line and it is surely proven now that a central midfield three of Barry, Livermore and Krychowiak simply doesn't work so one if not two need to be dropped.

They have a big squad so I doubt the congested fixture list will be much of a problem for them. We'll set up the way we usually do and only try and give it a go once we are losing.

As someone said on another thread, he wouldn't have got as far as our box if Yacob was playing

Last year there is no way he would have got as far as our box regardless of whether Yacob was playing or not one of the lads would have cleaned him out and took one for the team.

Leicester were a team that were there for the taking last night and in true Albion fashion we let them off the hook. The draw was a fair result as both sides were as bad as one another, terrible game of football.

Another question you could ask is will they be ahead of us in 12 months time

A hell of a lot can change in 12 months, they are currently enjoying a decent run but they are a long way from promotion just yet and they have to catch up to us before they can get ahead of us.

Pulis says the same thing about every team we play.

Difficult to argue with though.

Hopefully we won't need to find out anytime soon. We have plenty of players with Premier League nouse which can go a long way but you are talking about a one off cup tie where anything could happen.

Interesting, but not true, Jay did go down, but got back up again. If he'd stayed down, it would almost certainly have been a penalty.

You can see from the footage that the referee didn't signal any kind of advantage so he didn't think there was a foul. If Rodriguez had stayed down he wouldn't have given a penalty, it got on my nerves everyone making excuses for him making a massive mistake saying he played an advantage when he clearly didn't.

Why do people keep putting Chadli in their teams that Pulis should pick. He is no longer injured but Pulis still shows no signs whatsoever that he is part of his plans. Maybe some of you know something I don't?

He's had just a few minutes game time for the U23 side which is nowhere near the intensity of the Premier League. From the noises Pulis has made I think he is very much part of his plans moving forward. He may make the bench against Watford but even if he doesn't hopefully he'll get some minutes for Belgium to help build his fitness.

Strange timing with his comments about him about feeling under appreciated, can't really work out exactly who it is aimed at either but don't really care anyway. It was the right time for him to go, no way could we justify a long deal on massive wages based on his performances last season.

Who's he fighting? Please let it be Stan Collymore. ☺️

Collymore wouldn't fight Rio he's the wrong gender for him.

On a serious note Rio is 38 years old, this isn't the kind of sport someone that age should be getting involved in with no prior experience.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Jake Livermore
« on: September 20, 2017, 08:24:38 AM »
For Jake to feel the need to make a short statement about it on social media shows how badly its been handled by the club in my opinion. I imagine this kind of thing happens a lot at all levels of the professional game where players get drained either physically or mentally if not both and are allowed a few days off to rest and recharge the batteries but it will be dressed up as a knock so no questions get asked. That is how I believe this situation should have been dealt with personally, would definitely have saved some shameful comments from some people.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Jonathan Leko
« on: September 20, 2017, 08:16:57 AM »
Getting back to Leko I'm delighted he's doing well at a decent level but lets not get too ahead of ourselves its just been a couple of games so far when the going is good for Bristol City as a club. The main thing is that he's getting competitive games and it will aid his development so much more than being sat on the bench here or playing Under 23 games. With any luck he'll be developing as a person too being away from home for the first time and well out of his comfort zone, this loan could well be the making of him.

I'm genuinely concerned for this one. We don't have any threat up front really, and that display was awful against West Ham, we need a confidence boosting win in the cup midweek to get us on our way

West Ham were just as bad if not worse than we were, only thing they had over us was a striker in Carroll that could use his physical presence to cause our defenders issues and even then they created sod all. It was two sides desperate not to lose and cancelled each other out. Arsenal will be completely different, they'll take the game to us and if we can somehow keep them out they will allow us more space to play in on the break. Always a tough order to get anything from the top clubs like Arsenal but the performance against West Ham will have no bearing on this game.

Albion Matchday Forum / Re: Ticket Info & Requests
« on: September 20, 2017, 08:04:32 AM »
It's funny though as there are a lot of people on here who say they want us to have a decent cup run, but low attendances suggest they don't turn up to see us in the competitions!

I fully understand some people simply can't make some midweek games, I struggled to get a work shift covered so I could go. With that said there are plenty on places like this and other social media that demand the club takes the cup seriously yet they can't be arsed to take it seriously themselves by going to the game even though they can and that irritates me.

Expect PSG to blow smaller teams away with their firepower. That said its difficult to judge them based on a game against a side that plays against pub teams every week.

Mostly down to Pulis this result, team selection was ridiculous and tactically terrible. Add to that a few too many players being well below par and you end up with one of the worst performances since Pulis became boss. Need a big reaction on Saturday.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Official: Kieran Gibbs signs
« on: September 13, 2017, 07:56:25 AM »
Think Pulis is making observations based on what he and the fitness dept. see. Our record regarding player fitness and injury levels would be way way  better than Arsenal's.

From the comments I read I took it to mean they wanted him to add some muscle to his body to help him avoid the kind of injuries his career has been plagued with so I've no issues with that. Seems clear that Arsenal have issues when it comes to keeping certain players fit and that has to come down to their medical department and/or training methods.

When it comes to coaching it will take a while for him to adapt to the way Pulis will want him to play, lets be honest he's not done a lot of work defensively for Arsenal over the years so that's a massive part of his game that will need improving.
