Unless there is something seriously wrong behind the scenes, I can't see Peace accepting anything under 7-8 million for him after the contract we've just signed him up to. He makes bad decisions sometimes but as others have said, he's also not being played in the role where he was so prolific last season. He's one of those players who can get a goal out of nothing on occasion, which is hard to find in any league. Peace will not be made a mug of on this one.

I think this is one of the best posts about Odemwingie that I've seen in a while.

100% agree, cannot believe the amount negativity towards a bloke that everyone was saying last season sign him for 4 years on what ever he wants. The guy is not being played to his strengths.

Also said in Birmingham mail that we've received no offers for him except for a cheeky loan bid from an unnamed club.

Pete has to work a lot harder than last year. we are not playing to his strengths. He has to defend from the front. You can't defend off the front by playing off a defenders shoulder. Unfortunately whenever Pete has the ball he has the defensive line in front of him. So when he tries to play his game which is all about dribbling then shooting, he either gets tacked or blazes it over.

How many of his goals last season where one-on-ones - loads.

He needs to play off the shoulder. If he isnt going to be played like that then sell him.

Fulham ready to offer West Brom £3 million, Damien Duff and Chris Baird in exchange for Peter Odemwingie
Martin Jol has identified the Nigeria international, who the Baggies value at £5m, as one of his prime targets in the January window as he looks to bolster his attacking line-up

Buy Maynard and that is a fairly good deal.
But I think Baird is a RB not LB?

Duff would be valued at more than the rest of the deal not to mention his wages would blow us away.

I don't expect that he would command as much as £3m closer to £2m I think but a nice deal all around if it does happen much as I like Pete he is just not a consistant performer

Keep Odemwingie but try to sign Damien Duff if Fulham dont want him anymore.

These Odemwingie/Fulham rumours dont go away do they? The Mail now picking up on this rumour. I am not saying that i think it be true, but i certainly think there is something going on with us, pete and fulham.

I do believe Pete will go in January, I dont think we planned for him to still be here in all fairness even though we offered him the deal we did.

I'm shocked at how many supporters seem to be ok with the prospect at losing out most successful and prolific striker of recent times. Even through a dip in form, he has scored some cracking goals and won us matches. If you think Nicky Maynard is going to be a better option than Odemwingie, you are delusional. I for one will be screwin' if we allow him to leave. I'd rather have to replace the manager than a 15 goal premiership striker with our financial clout.

I don't think there is anything in the rumours at all to be honest. Baird as far as I know is a right back and we simply need to strengthen the opposite side and Duff is well and truly on the decline and would want big wages.

Odemwingie has already scored some vital goals and got some assists despite being described as rubbish so far this season. He's been found out after his first season as he always would be so defenders know how to handle him now and he has struggled with injury and hasn't had a settled strike partner yet, there is a lot more to come from Odemwingie if fully fit and confident. Would be difficult to replace a player of his quality when in form, we need to build around him not let him go.

Fulham are ready to offer £3million plus two players to West Brom for their striker Peter Odemwingie.
The two clubs are believed to have held talks about the possibility of Odemwingie making the journey south, and Fulham are prepared to offer Chris Baird and Damien Duff.

I really dont think selling Odemwingie in January is the best thing to do.  With Shane Longs suspect back injury he could break down any minute.

I want to keep him, look what happened when we sold our top scorer from the season before January 2006.

It all depends if we have someone lined up to replace Pete. If we have and our management team have the faith in that new signing it might not be all that bad.

However if hes sold without a replacement I can see there being trouble ahead.

As ive said before I think Pete will be gone either way in January.

I agree.

But there are plenty of strikers that could replace Pete how he has been the past 6 months but we dont want that as we would be no better off, we want a replacement that will replace Pete of last season, that will be very hard and very very dear in January
