West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Action For Albion/ Potential Takeover
« on: January 12, 2024, 09:57:52 AM »
Albion for action seem to have been pretty positive about the outcome of this and the article seems a bit light and speculative in my view so I’m not taking this too seriously.

Excited by the front line. Glad to see Furlong out and Townsend in. Interested to see how Mowatt gets on - big fan of Yokosulu but hes not been at his best. Sad to see Swift drop out but theres nowhere for him in this team. Bartley for Kipre seems an odd decision but assume its to counter Millwall.

Come on Albion - excited to see what Sarmiento and Diangana can do.

Wouldn’t surprise me. We seem incapable of getting two fit strikers in the squad these days and it’s costing us heavily.

Cant be long before he returns to training? This break could work for us asit helps Dike and the new players get fit - God knows we need Dike fit and firing.

Anyone heard anything about his likely return date?

I agree Alex. A TGH-Okay combination is certainly worth trying and Bruce has the chance to try it out second half but although obvious to us, I bet he won’t.

Agreed. I like Mulumby but I'd certainly try TGH there as sub to see how he gets on.

I wasn’t impressed with him last year, yet seeing him leave and Livermore stay - jeez. Maybe he’s not the greatest character.  Who knows. The bigger issue for me is that it potentially strengthens a promotion rival.

Yes, it's being played at the Hawthorns apparently.

I'm not going either by the way  ;D .

Hard for me to nip down given I live in Glasgow  ;D

60 mins before the season has even started and I’m already raging.

Whole season has been a shambles. Just shows what a good job Bilic did.

Can’t believe the fuss about the throw in tonight - talk about deflecting. It only led to a corner which is what we should really be talking about.

Terrible season. I don’t hold much hope for next year and sadly Bruce is not the man.

Thought it was an improvement than games of late but we do look so short of confidence and quality. For me we need to look at formation and find a way to play two up top. Perhaps the 3412 Blackburn played could be an option for us. Who knows. Reach not the answer in midfield but neither is Mowatt anymore in my view. Molumby and TGH would be my starters in midfield and wtf, let’s throw Castro in too.

So how many more games like this before the SB experience can be criticized?  On a positive no cards and we finished with 11 on the field.

Well a lot more than two games!

TGH for Reach (who hasn’t been that bad but TGH is just better) and Diangana for Robinson. Agree that it’s been a better watch.

Amazing how the match chat has exploded with people who hadn't posted and suddenly jump online.  Not even 45 mins into Bruce's appointment and until the sending off, despite the goal, we looked much the better side.  We were passing it smarter, getting players forward, midfield was getting forward.

Agreed. Until Livermore stepped in we were doing ok and far from out the game.

Think we’ve been doing ok until the last ten minutes. But due to Livermore we lose yet another game and we are right in mid table, especially with the games in hand the other teams have.

Not sure if this is because Vals football was so bad, but having watched the changes this week and the interviews with Bruce, I actually feel excited. If we can get some footballing nous in the board and we have a manager who will at least respond to changes in a game then it can only be a positive.

We’re not miles away, we have three players on the books suddenly who can bang in the goals and if we can bring Grady back then we have a great chance.

Come on Albion!

I’m still in the ‘anyone is better than Val’ haze - which is a fact. Bruce is a thrill a minute innovative tactician in comparison.

If THAT rumour came true how long before Sawyers comes back - which personally I’d be as fan of.

Same old same old. For the first time in years I’m not going to sit and follow the game. Taking the youngest to the cinema instead. Just lost any interest in this rubbish at the moment.

Just like the team overall he has fallen away fast. I actually think he makes us play even less football. Seems to make us more kick and rush when he’s in the team. He’d be on the bench with Livermore for me. Molumby and TGH would be my midfield.

I still think CR7 played an important role in our win as he the only one I see who regularly puts his foot on the ball and shows some craft. Glad to see Grady make an impact as well, he needed that for his confidence. For all that has been said about the manger and tactics, to be unbeaten at home with the best defensive record in the league is impressive.

If we played 4231 then I think Robinson in the middle of the three with Grant and Diangana either side would be pretty lively. But we don’t and never will sadly.
