City aren’t the first club, nor will they be the last to spend big on achieving Premier League success, it’s the way of the football world.

Most clubs spend big relative to their income to achieve success, some overreach with dire consequences and transgress FFP Rules.  So, it could be construed as being disingenuous to criticise them, unless they beat your second favourite team of course.

If they have broken any rules they will be punished, if like other clubs they have taken advantage of things but not broke rules then not sure they can be criticised. Other clubs have done similar to a lesser extent as the owners don't have the same clout.

Manchester City Council still own the stadium, it's leased by the club but the conversion was paid for roughly 50/50 between the club and council.

My point know is that the Etihad stadium is an amazing place,but it didn't cost them massive bucks did it.
If they had to build it from scratch it would have cost say £750 mill ?
