Grant does play a lot from the left hand side and I think I could argue that he is going to be more effective operating in a 4-3-3 as a wide striker.

Huddersfield fans prefer him cutting in from the left.

I’d be happy with Grant.

Looked tidy when Huddersfield were in the prem and scored goals last season in their struggling team.

If we can get him in and another similiar type of player, it gives our front lines some fluidity to move about in the games.

Judging by limited games per goal ratio he should be good for 10+ which what we need

I'd be happy with Grant. Friend is a Huddersfield fan and thinks he is a Cameron Jerome/Dwight Gayle type player in that he will score in the Championship but not the Prem. I think he is better that what we have, young and if we do go down would stand us in good stead of coming back up again. Probably too much to ask but Grant, Toney and Austin or HRK would be a solid enough front 3 in my opinion.

This is what I'm really hoping for. I think that frontline has bags of potential, with some guidance/experience in Austin and more than enough quality to put a shift in in the champ if the worst happens end of this season.

If it's that close I'm amazed there's nothing in the media yet.

If we get grant and Deeney in, I’d be happy with that strike force.

Let’s hope this one moves fast if it’s true!

I too would be ok with Deeney IN ADDITION to Grant and moving on HRK and Zohore and then bringing in a young, nippy striker .

So that leave us with Grant, Deeney, Austin and another as yet unidentified striker.  We play with one Centre Forward we don't need 4 if the other as yet identified striker is to make up for the many shortcomings of Austin and or Deeney maybe we just don't lumber ourselves with the latter.

I really hope if we are buying Grant, we aren't paying £16 mil.

Cardiff bought Bobby Reid for £10m two years ago and with this CoVID hit market, we should't be paying last years silly money prices.

I personally hoped we might unearth somebody from abroad for the striker role, but Grant is the one i've always expected to happen.

We are, but it's spread over three seasons.

Well i'm making the assumption that Grant may start from the left in a 433.

In an ideal world we don't sign Deeney, get rid of HRK & Zohore and then sign the unamed, unknown forward and then the 3 striker options will be Grant, newbie and Austin as 3rd choice which i don't think is that bad. Throw Robinson in the mix and it looks healthier.

If by a miracle we get Diangana then Robinson & Grant as interchange left/CF options plus Austin would be enough.

I'm spitballing a bit and trying to find light in what we're doing/not doing.

Not sure why fans get hung up on this “paying up front” it is almost always set up over 3/4 seasons...with clauses too.

Anyway, as fans I understand the wanting to get new/ better players in....I have no idea why any fan feels the need to try to tell the club how to structure the payments .
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..
