Madrid won 3-2.

Saw the last ten minutes. Fantastic. Thought City were going to do it at one point but never mind.

Joe Hart has got to be very disappointed with both the late goals. Should have had them both really.

I dunno. Ronaldo really smacked it. Even if Hart had gotten to it, with that wicked bounce it took, he never would have held it.

As a class keeper myself ;) he should have had both.

The first should have been read much sooner, reaction was far far to late. Should have been some footwork as Benzema turned.
The 2nd at very least should have been parried away.
He knows he should have had both.

Definitely shouldn't be getting beat at the near post by Benzema, but was totally left in the lurch by Kompany ducking his head on the winner. Totally wrong footed him...

Agree that Kompany ducked when he needed to show a bit more bravery and let the ball cannon off him if needed. It did seem to fox Hart but it was straight at him so I still think he will be a bit disappointed that he didht just stand his ground and get something in the way of it.

Surprised this hasn't been updated tonight:

Chelsea drew 2-2 with Juventus after being 2-0 up

Man United beat Galatasaray 1-0

Celtic managed to get a draw against Benfica  >:(

Barcelona also over-came a scare against Spartak Moscow to win 3-2 after initially being 2-1 behind.

Two goals for Messi tonight turned the game and puts him on 10 for the season already. Incredible.

Hope all the English sides go out so we hear less of this snoozefest of a "competition".

Well Man United should certainly make the quarters and Arsenal are still in a strong position.
Was a bit surprised hearing the Sky commentator on the Dortmund vs Madrid match calling a home win for the German champions a major shock against a Real side who haven't exactly been demolishing all before them this season.

Snoozefest of a competiton?...............surely your not serious. Champions League is the best club competition in the world. Brings all the best european teams and differing styles of football together in one competition. If WBA qualified would you be underwelmed at the prospect of watching us taking on some of the best in europe.

Yeah ruby but I can see where he's coming from. If the Albion were in Eurpoe then of course we'd enjoy it because the game means more as we are invested in our club, however to a neutral CL game can be a bit dull at times.

I guess thats just how different people see it then Hunnington. I dont watch every Champions League game but when I do I often enjoy watching the top players from other leagues. I dont know if you have seen it but on a Monday night there is now a Bundesliga highlights show which Ive found entertaining. I have been to a few Bundesliga games live and the atmosphere at German games is generally very good.

Chelsea win 6-1 and get knocked out.

Embarrassing dive by Samaras really and quite a lucky penalty from Commons. Brace ourselves for the media fascination  ::)

As much as you criticise Celtic they didn't qualify just on last nights game, its 6 group games not just one but don't let that get in the way of the bitterness  ;)

If it makes you feel better: Congratulations to them. They've done well, much better than I expected. Shame Samaras felt the need to dive in order for Commons to grab the winning goal but whats done is done.  :D
