Southampton signed Osvaldo, 15m.

15m on him, 8 on Wanyama and 6( i think) on Lovren.

Sadly we cant compete with them for players of that quality. Southampton are loaded hard to believe they were in league 1 a few years back.

That's scary and disappointing, i just hope the 3 that came up even though spent loads more than we could ever imagine don't jell in time. we are mid chumps in terms of spend. Jeremys statement spot on :(

If Benteke goes to Spurs/Arsenal I can see Villa getting Lukaku.

I really hope not but with the strikers chelsea are linked with I guess Lukaku would be looking for a move and I don't think we'd stand a chance finanically or for the fact that we have already got two strikers in.

Taken from:  http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/premier-league/marktwerte/wettbewerb_GB1.html

If Football was all about how much money it took to assemble a squad of players the end of season table would look like:

1   Man City
2   Chelsea
3   Man UTD
4   Spurs
5   Liverpool
6   Arsenal
7   Sunderland
8   Everton
9   S'oton
10   Newcastle
11   Stoke
12   Aston Villa
13   West Ham
14   Swansea
15   Norwich
16   Cardiff
17   Fulham
18   WBA
19   Hull
20   Palace

How do you think this table will shape up at the end of May?

I think fairly accurate, apart from the obvious one!!

I think we'll be a little higher along with Fulham, Sunderland and Stoke will be lower and despite the weekend Arsenal will finish above Liverpool. That table's a good reflection on spending power though.

Its value for money i am concerned about.

Last preseason could be wrong but didnt QPR, Southampton, Sunderland, Villa, Newcastle, West Ham, plus a few others spend a lot more money than us and we finished above them all?

LINE-UPS
Man City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Fernandinho, Toure, Jesus Navas, Aguero, Silva, Dzeko. Subs: Milner, Nasri, Negredo, Kolarov, Javi Garcia, Rodwell, Pantilimon.

Pretty scary that team is and the bench is full of quality too.
Allllllll aboard

Very good point mate, that's why I'm not massively concerned that we haven't spent big we dont always need too.

Man City have looked very good so far tonight wonder if they take the foot of the gas like what Chelsea did Yesterday.

Ivanovic defo red + denied last minute pen (couldn't wait to give one Saturday), can safely say Kevin Friend is no fan of Midlands teams .

I'm pleased that Villa lost last night, but Friend had an absolute shocker I wasn't impressed with him at all on Saturday. I doubt he will be taking charge of a Premiership game at the Weekend.

No fan of WEST midland teams. He's from Leicester and was appauling in our game with Stoke last season too...similar to Saturday booking our players for nothing letting there's get away with murder.

Kevin Friend is the worst Premier League referee I have ever seen, there have been some poor ones including Atwell and Rob Styles but Friend is at the top of the list. He has been shocking in almost every game I have seen him, the first I remember was at Colchester few years ago when we lost 3-2. Last Saturday he was urine-poor and last night missed 2 big decisions that would and should have gone Villas way.

2 absoute nightmare officiating performances in a row, he should be dropped but it's a touchy subject for the PL to deal with.
