Think Brendan Rodgers was watching a different game after Suarez cowardly raked his studs down the back of Distin

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers leapt to Suarez’s defence and said: “The foul on Distin? That wasn’t a red, I don’t see that.

“Sometimes you get that with strikers. It’s just a fraction out. He tried to play the ball.”

Seems like we're always disagreeing  ;D I thought it looked totally accidental, and then his standing foot slipped elongating the contact making it look worse. Yellow was right, more clumsy than anything.

:D I thought it was deliberate and cowardly.

I don't understand why players like Suarez who are so talented feel the need to do stupid things like this or the diving.

I agree with you there mate IF the foul is intentional then it's ridiculous, the diving too, but I feel it's so ingrained in the game in south america he actually can't help it,  the one the other week at Anfield was embarrassing and he MUST think when he see's it back, why have I done that? Crazy. I've been watching Oscar at Chelsea closely to see if there are any similarities when it comes to simulation, but he hardly ever gets fouled!! Work in progress!!!

Sorry but I think that is nonsense. It is not cultural but personal. Suarez feels he can do no wrong and whatever he does he is clean as the driven snow. He is simply a little punk. Suarez brings Liverpool down, not that I am complaining, but if I was a bigwig at Liverpool I'd get shot of him asap.

No you wouldn't... Just like Chelsea won't get rid of Terry. Get real, Suarez is Liverpool's best player and he is certainly not the first player to take a tumble, it is now a problem throughout our game there is a Gareth Bale dive earlier in this thread, Phil Neville got booked for diving today for **** sake, and our very own Shane Long and Jerome Thomas have reputations for it.

Suarez seems a humble guy off the pitch, but because of what happened last season (Javier Hernandez has called Evra Negrito in  training by the way...) is being vilified by all and sundry in a country that he has only been in for a year and a half, no wonder he comes out fighting.

I'd love him in an Albion shirt.

The foul on Distin was nasty and deserved a red. The dive in front of Moyes was funny and sort of warranted. The two sides of Louis Suarez.

Steven Gerrard talking more tripe again:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20135129

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has likened Everton to Stoke, claiming their rivals used long-ball tactics during Sunday's Merseyside derby.

The Premier League match at Goodison Park ended 2-2 after Luis Suarez's late 'goal' for Liverpool was ruled out.

Gerrard, 32, said: "Every single time they get the ball to the goalkeeper it comes in long.

"There was only one team who came to play football and that was us. Everton are not better than us."

The statistics, however, showed that Everton enjoyed greater possession, made more passes and completed proportionally fewer long passes than Liverpool.

Gerrard added: "I thought we were fantastic and stood up to a team that are very similar to Stoke.

"Everton are effective because they have some big, physical lads in the team. We had a young, small team out there who were men and stuck together."

The draw lifted Everton to fifth in the table. They are seven places and six points ahead of Liverpool.

Everton    Liverpool
56.2% Possession 43.8%

400 Passes 314

78.5% Passing accuracy 76.8%

13.8% Proportion of long passes 14.6%

Sunderland's home form is so poor. Hope they get at least a draw from this one.

I think Reading will be slightly happy with the draw than QPR, QPR have a massive game at Stoke coming up.

Wishful thinking, of course,  ;D but perhaps we can split the table into three? (No offence meant towards West Ham and Swansea; I'm going on their bookmaker odds.)

I dislike SAF and United so even if it is Villa that are playing them off the park I can't be too unhappy about that. Villa are impressive atm to be honest. Shows that if you attack United you can exploit their weaknesses. Scholes, Carrick and Ferdinand are slooooow.

Chicharito! 2-1.  :) 2-2, looks like an OG deflected off a Chicharito strike.

When I saw Agbonlahor unmarked in acres of space, I uttered an audible groan. Then it got worse.
