I’m bloody excited to see him in action

Wonder if he’ll get a run around in the cup to bring him up to speed?

Fantastic work and on a straight permanent. Threw everyone off. Why can't we operate like this moref often but happy regardless!

Welcome to the The Albion Daryl!

What a mentor for Reyes Cleary & only 4 years older.
If it was easy, it wouldn't be Albion

Good to see us getting this deal done early instead of faffing around like we usually do. I'd still like to see another forward come in.

It's very pleasing that we are starting to assemble a younger squad. O'shea and Molumby 22, Dike 21, Gardner-Hickman 20, Fellows 18 amongst others. This is great for the future and potential sell ons.

If those numbers are correct it is a fee easily payable by either1)selling Johnstone or 2) winning promotion !

Not by selling SJ.  We won’t get more than £5m for him now in this window

There must be plenty left from the Pereira sale.

I'm delighted that Daryl has joined us, he certainly has the potential to become an excellent player who, if we're being realistic, could well earn us a hefty profit when he moves on. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a release clause in the contract.

The club deserves great credit for getting not just a deal, but a permanent one over the line, even moreso for making it happen on the first day of the window, when we're all used to larger incoming deals either happening in the last few hours before closure or not at all.

This signing is also very clearly one which backs Valerien, so hopefully people who are on his back will settle down a bit, at least for a while, and see what happens. I'm sure he's chuffed that the deal has gone through on January 1st.

I'm very excited to see what Daryl can do for us and whether his obvious presence, even though he's still very young, will help other currently misfiring players in the squad to thrive. Welcome Daryl!

I hope there might be 1 or 2 more signings to come....

Incredible news!
So often we read about the player we want to sign and someone swoops in and gets our man.
Ticks all the boxes, young, scored goals everywhere he's been, played in the championship, Val knows him and loves him!

Well done Albion, got a renewed excitement for us now.
I may start waking up at 3 or 4am (NZ time) to watch us.

Wow, permanent! Did not quite expect that. Fair play to all those behind the scenes.

A lot of pressure on this guy... hope it pays off.

There is pressure but everyone has to give him time. If we don't go up it won't all be his fault.

Wishing Daryl all the best, hope he can hit the ground running. These are the sort of signings we need to be making, not some over the hill final payday 30+ something's. Let's hope we can get some of the other young prospects signed up!

I’m delighted to see us move fast and decisively.

And I feel a connection with Daryl already. He was born in Edmond, Oklahoma - which is where my wife comes from. What are the chances!

Welcome Daryl!!

At last we have a proper Centre Forward at the club. Think this could mean Hugill returning to Norwich.

From a quick look at his 2021 goals on YouTube he certainly looks capable of scoring any type of goal.

He’s not played in 5 weeks, and only once in 8/9. He should be fine.
He did it for Barnsley last season

Excellent signing , potentially a great central striker for us after several disastrous  recent signings in the role .

;D ;D ;D He looks like a young, energetic Lukaku to me. If he is half as good as Lukaku was with us I will be well pleased.
Great work by the club to get this deal over the line. Watch Robinson,Grant and Diangana come to life in the second half of the season playing with this guy.....absolutely fab signing...welcome to the "best club" and "supporters"in the UK.
