Is it just me that finds it odd we have a friendly on a Friday night at 8pm? Has anybody heard what's happening  with the Cyrille Regis match? I'm sure I read the club state this was going to be a annual thing after the game against Coventry last summer.

The Baggies travel on Monday, July 8 to a Spanish hotel and sports complex near the Costa Blanca coastline to continue their build up to the 2019/20 campaign with a week’s training.

They will finish the trip with a friendly against the Europa League quarter-finalists at the Benidorm Municipal Stadium on the evening of Saturday, July 13. A kick-off time has yet to be confirmed but the match will be free admission.

The fact the club have announced this today surely means that the new manager whoever it may be has been all but decided and appointed? No way would the club arrange and confirm this, a whole week away at a training camp in Spain at such a crucial stage of pre-season, if this wasn't the idea of or had the blessing of the new manager. I've a feeling we will be hearing some news tomorrow about an appointment!

Anybody know whereabouts on the Costa Blanca? I used to live there and know of 3 places albeit to the south of Alicante whereas Benidorm is to the North.

Well, for us Cornish Baggies we can probably get to this game quicker than Birmingham!

Newquay Airport to Alicante and then 35 mins away from there.

I'm tempted!

Valencia airport is roughly 200km nearer. Villarreal is about 60 km further north. A couple of nights in Valencia would be better than Alicante as well.  8)

I’d happily do that, but I’m living in Florida at the moment. However, I’m considering a break from the heat here to the heat there soon. And I’ve never seen the Baggies play abroad before. Now I have a date to focus on.  :D

I am fully up for this but the best I an find for the Friday until Sunday is £117 return flights from East Mids but then you have to add in accomodation and transfers to and from accomodation and airport as well as travel to the game and back. It looks more like a £300 trip than a short hop to Spain.

Maybe there is some sort of package holiday that would make it more affortable.

£155 and flights only on Wednesday out and Sunday back if you're in Cornwall  :'( . The WBA website says they will be putting packages together.

Well, in that case, ignore everything I posted. Apart from the bit about me trying to make the game.

Bournemouth at home Friday 26th July 8.00pm

Nothing says how far we've fallen in the last two years than this.

A 'prestige' final home friendly against a club that is essentially Walsall with a billionaire owner. We should be visiting sides like Bournemouth in pre-season, not having them visit us.

And we'll probably get a nice morale-boosting hiding from Calum Wilson and co to send us into the season on a high.

I doubt the bournemouth fans are looking forward to coming to costa del Sandwell for an away day either,
