This guy goes through more clubs than Tiger Woods. Good luck to him though, a nice bloke but a poor manager.

5 managerial roles in the last 11 years, 2 stints and 6 or 7 years of which have been spent at Real Betis, doesn't really go through clubs like he did early in his career.

Saying he is better than Irvine is hardly a ringing endorsement. That's like wanting a prize for the least smelly poo.

I liked him as a person and thought he was sold down the river to some extent by the players but he was out of his depth with us/in this league.

People have mentioned the 4-3 against Villa and the 3-3 with Cardiff but what about the 3-3 with Spurs, the 3-1 at Palace etc. He had a 17% win ratio.

Nice to see Pepe Mel un beaten so far at Deportivo in La Liga. Throughly nice bloke, who played good attacking Football, shame we couldn't defend mind. Plus can't believe Peace didn't let him bring in his trusted coaches from Real Betis.

His Deportivo team beat Barcelona today 2-1. Go on Pepe  ;)

Only caught the last 10 minutes which was highly entertaining and nerve wracking to watch. Think he's won two since taking over recently and Deportivo are now 8 points above the drop zone.

I liked the bloke a lot, thought the club treated him like sh-t after doing the job he was asked to do while tieing both hands behind his back.

Im here , as much as i liked Mel when it comes out in public from senior staff  that Kiely and Downing steered us clear of trouble i tend to lean that way.
That said he wasnt treated too well here , right mess we were then on and off the pitch.

Not remotely.

Completely agree. Was mega out of his depth in the premiership, but that championship winning side was one of the best pure footballing sides in the history of championship IMO

Doing a Pepe Mel - When one makes a complete and utter disaster of a certain situation

e.g. "Alright Dave I've locked myself out the house and now I'm going to miss the wedding!"
"For God sake Nigel, you're doing a Pepe Mel!"

I would say it is being in charge of a certain situation with subordinate players who refused to get on the same page.

Doing an Alan Irvine on the other hand...
