Tried his best but it was clear that he lacked any real quality to make it at this level. Will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Greek league.

Real shame. Saying that I still can't figure out if he was good enough or not. Either way he had a great attitude while he was with us and I wish him all the best.

My sentiments exactly.

Good luck Bobby.

Albion's £10million flop Brown Ideye has joined Greek side Olympiacos for a fee reportedly just over £4m. #wba
I'm sick to the back teeth of the media itching to label players as "flops". Also, everyone knows that we never paid £10m for him, but don't let that get in the way of sensationalising reports....

I'm really sad that we never got to see Bobby as he was before he joined us, but it's becoming a well trodden path, when you consider that Rosenberg has returned to being the player he was before he joined us. You can also say the same about Scott Sinclair, given the way he's started the season at Villa.

Thanks for being a professional and a gentleman, Bobby. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you here, but I wish you every success in Greece.

Totally agree . He looked brilliant on you tube ,but in the premier he looked like a fish out of water . Glad he's gone . We move on .

Yes, great post.

I think Bobby is one of those that don't work here but will elsewhere. (Borja Valero, Rosenberg etc)

I've already wished him good luck for the future but will do so again.

A likable bloke with a good attitude but the bottom line is that he wasn't good enough and if we did pay somewhere in the region of £10million then we were robbed.

I wish him all the very best in Greece.

Yes I am not convinced we paid that for him - i suspect that is what we would have paid if he had scored the 20 goals he was brought in to do. More like £7m i reckon. Good luck anyway - i cannot fault his attitude.

Great attitude. Shame it didn't pay off on the pitch.

That said, what were our scouting department thinking? Blimey.

An enigma who scored hard chances like header against Stoke and miss a sitter like vile away in cup.

I heard, and hope it's true, fee paid was 2.5m down rising to 8m with add ons.

Thanks for your efforts and good luck to him.

Now i hope sick vic follows him out.

Got to give it to pulis he's trying to rid us of the bad uns asap.

Squad is looking better with every new signing.

Not saying we should sell him but jo o would be great for the dingle back 4.

I recall comments at the time we bought him from Dynamo Kiev that his fellow striker at the time was a better player and Brown's form was in decline. If this is factually accurate then it calls into question our scouting set-up last year.

Our scouting has been shocking for a while.

We're linked with andre ayew loads of times but when he.'s on a free swansea get him.

Same with gomes.

How can we ignore these players in favour of samaras.

Whoever wanted samaras then gave him a straight 2 year contract, the 2nd year not dependant on appearances was a moron.

You can also add Jason Davidson to that  ???

Interestingly, Ideye was actually one of the better signings and did ok at times.

If you were going to spend 10 million on an African striker from Kiev, you'd want Mbokani (who's gone on loan to Norwich).

I wish Ideye all the best, but he is such a frustrating player to watch. All arms and legs and his touch is extremely variable. Lacked confidence against Vale and resorted to throwing himself on the floor and faking injury.

I hope he goes on to score many goals for Olympiakos because I don't think he's an awful player, but something just didn't click between us and him

Funnily enough, if we weren't pipped by Kiev, we just way well have got Mbokani a couple of years ago, the same scouts knew he was the better player but that he was Kiev's hot property two seasons ago and they weren't going to sell after one year, so, get the guy he replaced.

Pleased  we managed to find a buyer. I thought it wouldn't be in this country. He tried his hardest, but its very difficult playing as a lone striker in a Pulis formation.

I felt he needed a run of games and another 6 months or so after his difficult first season , shame he going after not really getting a fair crack. Sorry to see him go , especially if Vic doesn't.

Looked like a decent player in Jan/Feb. Scored some cracking goals..Swansea, West Ham in the cup, Stoke but that miss against Villa seemed to really knock his confidence.

Thought he might have kicked on this season, but guess we'll never know.

Good luck in Greece.
