Time to go for goals as they are a truly awful side.

Tosin in for Bartley, hopefully Phillips will be back, Hoolahan and Barry into the centre of midfield to replace two players who are just not up to it in that position.

Good selection Fritzl. I'd be happy with that.

Subs I'd have Myhill, Mears, Livermore, Field, Morrison, Edwards, Sako

wheres that diablo chap, he should turn up sometime soon!

I think this could be anything from a 2-3 defeat ( if defence goes awol again) to a  7-0 QPR style win.

If we click we are going to hammer someone and Reading seem a bit fragile to me. Grab an early one and the floodgates may open.

So I'm predicting 0-0 !

Reading have won one and drawn three of their last four away matches. Only loss away was at Nottingham Forrest in early August. Seem to have a very poor run of form at home so they may well like coming away and feeling the pressure is off.

Don't know too much else but expect a tough game and if there is any complacency on the field we could be made pay for it. Own home form is good and might expect something similar to Millwall game and we will be made fight hard for a win.

Got to grind these sorts of games out if we have to, like Millwall, the season's up and running properly now.

I quite like the team selection by Fritzl . Have to say though that there is no way he will drop Livermore. Nor do I think he should really.

We're selling on average around 300 per day at the moment. If that continues till Saturday we're looking at somewhere between 21.5 and 22k home fans. That would be higher than against Bristol City (20,227) and Millwall (21,264) and similar to QPR (21,566) but some way below Stoke (22,469) and the sell out v Bolton (23,382).

I think we should be looking at clearing 22,000 in the home ends for every league match at the moment regardless of the opposition. It's a bit disappointing that we're falling short of that at present.

Agreed considering how cheap the tickets are.
Disappointing last few home crowds I think.

I like Fritzl's team too but besides Livermore, there's no way Big Dave is dropping Brunt either.

If Phillips still isn't fit I would go back 4 Dawson at rb Gibbs lb give Bartley a go in a flat 4. Brunt left wing, hoolahan right side Livermore and field cm. Barnes in free role off Gayle.

I think back four is a thing of the past now. Under Moore / Jones there have been times when it would've been easy to revert back to a four but they clearly have the three set in stone now.

In that case I would prefer Dawson rwb and bring young tosin in at cb

Nice picture...only change I would make to that team is Field at left back...think he could do a job there and bring the ball out of defence to show his passing prowess and link with the midfield. Think he could also do a "Yacob" job giving more stability to the back 3 who are leaking goals like Xmas presents.

Like the back 3 - but think we need to try either adaribioyo or Barry back there. I’d also like to see either Field or Morrison partner Livermore. Personally I think part of the problem is midfielders offering themselves to the centre backs and I think currently our midfield is too static. I think Morrison is more mobile.

Reading are absolutely woeful... which is why I'm nigh on convinced they'll beat us.

I can see the argument for removing Livermore in place of Hoolahan or Barry to gain a little more control however they cannot run anymore. We are so poor in the middle of midfield. If you combined Barry, Hoolahan, Brunt and Livermore you might just be able to fashion a functioning midfielder.

If Bartley plays I give up.

True.

I was there when we lost to them in the cup a couple of years back so would very much like some revenge against them and their painfully annoying fans. Memories of the dark old days of Pulis right there.
