Mulumbu declined very rapidly, he was immense for us and then was suddenly no good.

Something must have been up with him

Not into conspiracies but his decline coincided with Anelkas arrival. Big pals off the field.

He just needed the right manager to help him out of his slump.

He got Alan Irvine.

My Nigerian friends still berate me about that signing. They all preferred every other Nigerian striker over him and couldn't believe we bought him let alone broke our transfer record on him

Lee Hughes and Scott Dobie reunited in fairly strange circumstances.

This is the definition of 'It's a small world'.

Scott Dobie is now an armed police officer and has been posted from
Carlisle to the Midlands to patrol in light of recent events.

Reports that Rangers have bid for Dorrans.

Think he would be a revelation up there. Was fantastic for us one time

Think he'd do okay too. Not a revelation (Scott Sinclair for example) but a solid career. He was never anything more than top level Championship so that should translate, his career has nose dived since we didn't snap West Ham's hands off for the £4 million.

Still, thanks for the Stoke goal Dozza  ;D

Yeah 6 years later when it was worth about a 3rd of what it was worth when West Ham offered it, oh and we paid out his wages for that length of time also for very little return...

Apparently we turned down a £5M bid from West Ham in July 2010.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Dorrans

We sold him to Norwich for about £3.5M I think.

so it's even worse than you originally thought!

At the time, the West Ham bid for Dorrans was pretty awful and in true West Ham style it was well below his value; he'd just had his first full season in the Championship aged 22 and got something like 18 goals and 22 assists which was magnificent. Without him we may have not got promoted as he was easily our most creative player.

Since then he wasn't great but was ok for the Premier League. In hindsight I'd have rather held on to him for 3+ seasons and sell him for 1.5 million less which was a decent move from us.
