I realise it's a long time ago but for some reason rick shepherd's name just entered my brain.
He was a pretty decent goalie for us ,stylish on and off the pitch.
Anyone know how he is and what he's up to.
I remember that photo of him with the stud marks in his chest in the league cup final against qpr was it from Rodney marsh's boots for the winning goal?
Must have been a foul, marsh was and still is a big mouth, full of his own self importance,a nobody in the game,me and Georgie best blah blah blah

Brief highlights of the Final courtesy of Pathe News linked below.

Dick Sheppard makes a couple of decent saves and you can see the clash with Marsh towards the end of the clip.

I was at that match. It happened away from the Albion supporters.
I did see the marks on Monday morning after.
His girlfriend at the time worked at Concentric Pressed Products on the Main Holyhead Road, as did myself.
He was still fuming and showed the lads the marks of the studs.

Peter Odemwingie is currently on trial at Hull City.

Trial didn't work out and he is now looking for another club. We definitely got his golden period.

Never really showed anything for us, maybe Rodgers can find the potential he showed in the past (way back)?

Just a reminder this thread is for updates on when players move or what they are doing, any goal updates will be removed or merged into other topics elsewhere on the forum usually in General Sports forum.

Thanks Oldbury. Just goes to show really, I would have thought he would have walked into any club, likewise Vic with the Championship. I could see him doing a job in that division.

Confirmed on season long loan

Loftus-Cheek was breaking into the first team squad at this point in his career. Brown now spending the season on loan at potential relegation strugglers Rotherham...

Such a shame, we all knew this would happen. I've got no doubt he'd be one of the first players on our team sheet if he'd stayed here and developed.

Just one of so many examples of promising young players stagnating their career after moving to a big club.

I think the emergence of Leko, Field and Wilson and Berahino before shows that if you're good enough, you'll play. Such a shame we lost players who had bright futures, though I see Jerome Sinclair has moved to Watford

None of them have made it yet, with the exception of Berahinho.

Serves him right, saw the money and the 'big club' and moved.
To think he would probably have had 20-30 appearances for us by now, and probably a solid move to a championship team, would probably have been integrated into the first team with us properly by now.

Got no sympathy for him.

Dhanda (17)
Brown (19)
Sinclair (19)

Leko (17)
Berahino (23)

Could have been our front 5 by now. Hopefully the youth players are now realising the grass isn't greener.
