Cifuentes had had a bust up/break down of relationship at QPR with chief executive Christian Nourry and is ready to quit - The Sun

Yes please!

I wouldn't worry too much on that score, last away win was when?

Remembrance Sunday.

5 months without an away win. Pathetic.

I don’t blame them to be honest. I can only speak for Twitter but when they put happy birthday posts on there they were met with a barrage of abuse.

I did think it was a bit silly of the club to be promoting the kit deals for the likes of John Swift and Grady Diangana.

Talk about reading the room.

Quite frankly, unless the club are announcing the departure of some of those senior players I'd rather them remain silent.

I agree with you, but how? I can't see many realistic options to be honest. He has a contract, which I can't see the club being willing to pay up, and I can't envisage any other club being willing to take him and pay him more than we are, or offer him a longer contract. If none of these happen, he will just sit tight I imagine.

I would happily sign one player less this summer if it meant paying him off.

The culture needs to change at this football club.

The club requires players who want to work hard to better themselves, be better people, be better players. An Isaac Price a Tobjorn Heggem.

Bartley and his lack of accountability, his attitude towards others and his constant arm waving are nothing but a stain on this club.

Chris Hall states on his podcast that Mowbray was referring to his time at Sunderland with respect to this rather than at Albion and speaking in a broader sense about what managers sometimes have to deal with.

I think this is more likely - though quite why Mowbray needed to reference it is beyond me.

https://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/sunderland-afc/tony-mowbray-reveals-team-selection-disagreements-at-sunderland-under-kristjaan-speakman-4872406

And I would expect any competent sporting director to be having a conversation with the head coach around why players are not featuring or have not been selected. It is at that point the sporting director needs to be clear on whether these players don't feature into the coaches plans and therefore look to move them on accordingly or identify what the coaches vision is so players can be recruited in line with this. .

I would expect a weekly meeting between Nestor and Mowbray. And I would have assumed player attitudes, their training regimes, the players physical condition and what the plan is for the forthcoming week to be discussed aswell as reflection on the previous matchday. If that doesn't work for Mowbray then it is clear he and Nestor are not aligned and that his departure is better for the club in the long term.

Well he clearly knew he was off and used his press conference to fire his shots. No wonder he was sacked moments after it.

It was a poster who wanted to select Cooper.

The new deals for Mowatt and Molumby at the time seemed like good deals given how they were playing - I did state on Mowatt last year that our funds would be prioritised elsewhere and it seemed easier to give him a new deal, although I had reservations of a 32 year old getting another year based on appearances.

Those decisions however have forced us into a bit of a rabbit hole - we have Mowatt who looks slightly overweight and is having no baring on our games and equally with Molumby whilst we have plenty of industry we are looking very short on quality.

Whatever tactical decisions we make will have to carry the deficiencies of Mowatt without the ball, and the deficiencies of Molumby with the ball. Issac Price gives us a solution to the problem but we could really do with cloning him.

I can't work out whether Mowbray is giving his view and vision on how it should work or whether he's hinting at interference from those above him.

Wolves fans think O'Neil is the worst manager they've ever had.  Why on earth would we go after him?

Don't worry about him.

He's the forums token dingle who can now go back to the Mol Dix and report on his failed wind up attempt.

One of his parting shots:-

" I think the real issue is that the manager should be able, from the resources that he’s been given, to pick the team he wants to pick. So, just because someone costs £5million, £10m or £20m, if the manager doesn’t want to put him in the team, he should be given the right to pick the team."

Rather concerning if he is sugessting he didn't have autonomy over team slections. What players do people think he was referring to? The only players we've paid fees for are Styles, Heggem, Price, Johnston and Bany.

Only Bany seems like one who the recruitment team would want to see involved more, however he had fitness issues and injuries.

What article is that from?

He, Price and Heggem are outstanding in my opinion.

I am hopeful that the red card does not taint people's memories of this season.

On the whole, Styles has been a great addition.

They've never been promoted through the play offs (lost 3 times), so you may well get your wish!

I am still waiting for Simonsen's penalty to land  :D

I think keeping Mowbray in post largely became untenable - clearly there were frustrations in the stands at how our season was petering out but equally there was sheer frustration on the pitch too. We've seen a number of players arguing with the management team in recent weeks and it was always looked to be an unhappy and confused camp.

I don't think Mowbray helped matters with his scattergun approach to team selection and equally the substitutions in recent weeks looked of real desperation. There was no clear defined approach to games other than possession for possessions sake and we looked quite brittle to play against. Given how the season has petered out then it became apparent that Mowbray would have to go.

Nestor also has to take some accountability here - moving from Corberan to Mowbray mid season seemed to much of a revolution to make in such a short space of time. This football club has lurched from one extreme to the other and on Nestor's biggest call, he did the same and has got it badly wrong.

That being said, I'm not going to excuse some of these players though. Our record must be something like 8 wins in 40 football matches and that is a reflection on them as individuals, their qualities and there sheer lack of mental strength.

Across the season, Swift has been on the beach too often. The rest, have been trying. I don’t think our 10th place position is down to a lack of effort. Even recently we have dominated Sunderland & Norwich, and just been unable to score.

I wasn't commenting on the season though - my post referenced the last 180 minutes of football where this squad has downed tools. Some more embarrassingly than others.

Lewis Cox said it was Grady that Mowbray confirmed would be leaving. Likely Swift too.

Not groundbreaking news but very welcome news.

Well there's two out of the door.

Shame we're lumbered with a few others.

Burnley and Leeds promoted today.

Be absolutely great if Sheff United make a mess of the play offs.

Cannot stand Wilder.

He lost the most amount of duels on the pitch yesterday - 7.

Not surprised either. Absolutely abysmal.

Yes and no, Price for example ran around like a nutter today and he is playing with injections. I didn’t see a lack of effort, just a lack of confidence, quality, and organisation. Fans building up this silly narrative that the players wanted the manager sacked, rather than the simpler point, the players were not good enough over the last month.

Are you really suggesting that the effort levels from a considerable bunch of this squad have been where they should be?

Sean Dyce if we can get him. He would sort the bad apples out.

I just do not see a scenario where Sean Dyche turns up here.

He's also exactly what Nestor has spoken against.

I found his Luton team very direct, energetic and aggressive.

Energetic and aggressive you say?

Where do we sign up?

Just slightly more adventurous than Pulis, and I can´t see what`s so good about 442. We need someone to drill the players into playing football, like passing, controlling the ball, moving into space etc.

Have you not seen them in the last few months?!

But not 3  your assuming which is danger ground because you don't actually no that do you.

Across the last 180 minutes I have seen a total lack of application.

Players failing to do the basics - players failing to even bother with a basic sprint.

The last 180 minutes have been performances which get a manager sacked.

I have no issues with being second best - but I cannot and will not forgive their total lack of effort, discipline and professionalism.

I would happily take any financial penalty coming if it means we can pay him off and never have to see him again.

9 managers in 7 years.  Not one ounce of accountability.  He's a disgrace.

As for the next head coach?

Well, where do you start?

Nestor needs to set out what hes looking for and that recruit a head coach around that.

And then Bartley and co can get him sacked in 12 months time and we'll be back to square one.
