never a PK, baffling that VAR wasn't used (and if it was used and it confirm the call, taxi for everyone)

Manufactured contact for the penalty. Where's VAR? Fantastic equaliser by Costa.

Is there a luckier team in international football than Portugal?

the trouble as I see it for the negative games so far is that in the first round of group games defeat almost means elimination, therefore I guess most teams try not to lose their opener hence the stalemate

Great game. And I've pleased that the VAR hasn't been overused. It became a farce in the FA Cup.

Caught the highlights :o  of todays earlier games before the kick off of the Portugal-Spain game

God, who was that female commentator on one of them? I'm glad I didn't have to sit through a whole match of that whine. And the other match commentator was Jonathon Pearce, who was my least favourite until I heard her

It was on ITV so we didn't have a female commentator.

Cannot stand the smug tosser but what a goal from Ronaldo. What a game.

If he didn't dive so much he'd be up there with the real greats. Messi, Pele etc.

As the team went to leave the hotel today on the coach there was a young boy outside the hotel. When he was told Ronaldo was already on the bus he broke down in tears. Out came Ronaldo who shook his hand and had his photo taken.

Karma that is of the finest kind.

Yes he is a tool but he also has some great gestures in him.

Brilliant game. Could only have been made a bit better if someone had scored a winner in the last few seconds.

Some fantastic goals and quality football being played.

I’ll never understand why defenders do what Pique did. Spain were doing a fantastic job of keepball.

I didn't see the earlier matches live, but on BBC they showed the 30 seconds or so of so called highlights before the Portugal -Spain game, and there was a female commentator with a really irritating whiney voice

He has been the worlds best for years. Messi is so technically gifted, but Ronaldo is the complete footballer, equally gifted but strong, powerful, great on the floor and in the air, and can lift a team on his own.
Up in the morning and have a look at France.

I admire [Ronaldo], if I had to set up a national team he would be my
first pick."
—Pelé,

Ronaldo is better than George Best and Denis Law, who were two brilliant and great players in the history of United."
—Dutch player Johan Cruyff on the 23-year-old Ronaldo,

Ronaldo has a record-tying five Ballon d'Or awards, the most for a European player, and is the first player to win four European Golden Shoes. He has won 26 trophies in his career, including five league titles, five UEFA Champions League titles and one UEFA European Championship. A prolific goalscorer, Ronaldo holds the records for most official goals scored in Europe's top-five leagues (395), the UEFA Champions League (120), the UEFA European Championship (9), as well as those for most assists in the UEFA Champions League (34) and the UEFA European Championship (6). He has scored over 670 senior career goals for club and country.

at what point of his career do you admit he's one the greats jacko.😈
