I think Reach was on the first few seconds of the video as well.

Every silver lining has a cloud  ;)

An expensive bench warmer, that if he doesn't score offers very little. I'd argue that Cleary (when fit) could fill that role for a fraction of the price.
To that end I see no problem with Grant going. I don't believe CC saw him in the DD, BTA, striker role anyway.

Looking at the stripes on the blue/red/purple kit I think we've got a fair idea what the home kit is going to look like now

Think it makes sense to put Griffiths in tomorrow. Even if he makes some errors the crowd are far more likely to cut him some slack.
Imagine the crowd reaction if Button plays and has another game like Blues !  :o

Wasn't he head of UK recruitment at Brighton so was never going to be the guy to unearth some gems from overseas unfortunately. As others have said another jobs for the boys appointment. Maybe it's just a coincidence that Brighton kicked on once he left and Ashworth arrived.
Surely, both he and Vanessa Gomm both have questions to answer in relation to the latest debacle.

Didn't Olsson commute from London?

Totally agree Avon. I remember watching Carroll when he was at his height at Newcastle in the days of Olsson and GMac. Jonas clattered him early on and Carroll just disappeared entirely from the game. Don’t think he likes it rough!
That said, with our ‘hoofball’ style and number of crosses, and being good in the air it might, just might suit his style
PS:  we won 3-0 !

Didn't Paul Scharner go right through the back of him from nearly the first ball of the game in one match too?. Didn't hear a peep out of him for the rest of the match  ;) Also remember Olsson flicking his pony tail as he we sat on his backside. ;D ;D ;D- Happier times

Think SA will be targeting a leader in January, so it may be someone not at the club yet. Maybe someone like Deeney

Pulled from the Ireland squad after positive Covid-19 test....

That's 3 first team players now. Doesn't look good

Big game for Field.

Think he needs to completely boss the game tonight to stand any chance of staying at the Hawthorns this season.

Really hoping he puts in a performance

Can someone please explain what the hell he was doing on 0.33s below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpO4CQoWauk

No wonder the defenders don't seem to have any faith in him.

I'd be going all out for Butland. Think his contract is up next year as well.
Remember watching him closely against us earlier in the season. So much more confident and commanding compared to SJ

I know we were very spoilt with Foster, and SJ is still relatively young in goal keeping terms at 26. However, I've seen no signs of improvement since he's been here. Whether that's a SJ issue or a fault with coaching who knows. I just don't see him getting any better though.

He seems to lack the "balls" for it and I don't think that is something you can coach. I noticed against Stoke that Butland was very active. You could tell the six yard box was his area and he was in charge. It was in stark contrast to Johnstone.

For a team with Premier League aspirations we need better. - Simple as that !

I still don't see him being dropped though  :(

I do think it strange that he put his fingers "in" his ears as opposed to cupping them. Odd !
We got 3 points so to be honest I don't really care.

He certainly doesn't seem to be getting any fitter though. Has he always had a "stocky" build ?

The embodiment of a Tony Pulis player and the sort I'd hoped we were finally moving away from  :(

Really hope he does well for us, but for some reason I just can't warm to him. Absolutely no logical reason why, just something about him. Very odd.  :-\

Surprised Edward's is starting. Thought he tired towards the end of Saturdays game (unsurprisingly) so thought he might be rested.
Big game for Burke though

I hope we've started contract discussions, seeing as he has less than a year left

21
My clutching at straws thoughts are around the fact that he was supposedly in our offices in London earlier as opposed to the training ground. As such the obligatory holding up the shirt type photos and general PR stuff may be happening later..... As I said clutching at straws

22
Maybe we're just taking a different approach and hoping to get someone in who will be our own player and with some potential re-sale value ?
I appreciate this is very much a glass half full perspective and not necessarily one I adhere to personally. However you can see the logic if we believe the target we have identified is that good.

23
Whenever I've seen Burke play previously he has always looked blinkered in his play, and never aware enough of his team mates around him.  Maybe he's learnt a few things while away in Scotland.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do this year.

Think Gibbs is technically far superior.  His first touch and general ball control is streets ahead of Townsend.

Can't help but think a quality strike partner is needed, any suggestions?

Agreed. Feels like one piece of the puzzle, but not the final piece.  I'd like to think we are looking at a Gayle-esque type but not sure who our budget could run to?

I wouldn't be totally adverse, in this instance, to signing a more experienced player on a short term deal. Maybe someone on the downward slope of their career, but who could still rattle them in at this level. Would also help in developing Zohore further, as well as our younger forwards. No idea who though.

However, good luck to to our new number 9 and welcome aboard
