West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Next Head Coach Thread

The whole coaches not being able to come I don't believe. Surely If wicky wanted the job he would have had just negotiated for different coaches to join him and if the club wanted him they would have given extra time for this contingency. Somebody pulled the plug and it wasn't for the coaches I'm sure. Conspiracy theory time.

On a more serious note with Maja getting injured and our financial prediction and how we are probably limited in market I would have Mowbray until of season (he gets to ease back in before finding another job and we have time to find our long term successor) we put an option for an extension in contract if he does well wonderful if not we have 5 months or so to find successor

With Maja injured, Cole surely has to be given his chance?

Mowbray to the end of season free hit and then we have 5 months to get the long term appointment sorted!

Now that Lowe has gone back to Stoke would it be worth sending Cleary back to bescot and see if he gets any increased game time?

We don't have enough players who COULD make the step up.
Fellows maybe? Molumby? Even Diakite on his late showings? Heggem? We need a new full back either side. Could Palmer do a job? Johnston? Maja? Even if they did we are in same position we are at the moment which is everything we have from the bench is a hindrance.

Think you continue the rebuild and get rid of the likes of swift Wallace Diangana ajayi holgate racic and bring in young hungry players like we did in heggem and diakite and go up to add a few extra and if we do get relegated we don't get thrashed weekly like saints

6
Too many of the bomb squad played and like how we lose control in league games we were already climbing a mountain before we had any control in midfield.

Diakite and molumby could make the step up in my eyes you just need to improve around them.

Getting rid of replays is a disgrace same as loads of games on Thursday and Friday. The FA cup is the most historic tournament in the world and it's been totally watered down to favor the big boys. Tanworth robbed of a cash cow replay down that London that would have helped finance that club for years

8
Holgate as bad as Ajayi. Taylor I thought did well but if we aren't going to give him a game he should be back out at Wycombe playing football.

Molumby and Diakite did well and at least wanted the ball. Swift Diangana and racic we carried. Be happy that all 3 won't be here come summer. We lack any real goal threat without Maja. Better sides double up on Johnston or Fellows if and when we don't play both.

Another year the cup wasted

We can only hope can't we. Robins wanted him at Coventry so let's see if he goes. If he does I'm sure it will be one of those end of the window things

2 points thrown away. Swansea didn't lay a glove on us all game. With hindsight Fellows from start having all those crossing and shooting opportunities that Wallace wasted we could have been home and dry.

Diangana poor again off bench and my bowels moved more this morning than swift did when he was on pitch. Hopefully we can see back of both this window.

Positives are we probably only need 10 more points to avoid league one 25 to avoid any potential points deduction if we breach financial spending. Molumby very good and should get his new deal. Mowatt back. Diakite third game and did well again. On to the cup Hopefully we don't surrender the tie

At some point he needs a run of starts. There's a good chance we will be in this league next year and we cannot rely on Bartley forever. He and Heggem (if not poached by PL side) could be our central pairing for a few years.

Should get 90 minutes in the Cup at Bournemouth

Problem with cup games is we surrender the tie and change the whole team so everybody looks awful

Palmer best keeper we have had since Foster. Makes saves and has presence he's just not great at tippy tappy stuff. But to be honest for where we are he is excellent

I think he is here as an insurance policy. Hopefully he gets to fully participate whilst here, but see a return to WW in a few weeks. ( and hopefully  not down the Villa )

Back to back interviews brunt has praised older Kyle Bartley for playing so many minutes back to back. So you might see him get some minutes at Swansea Saturday. Last thing we want/need is KB adding to the list of injuries we have at cb

Great performance today.

I can't believe Uros was ever chosen over him.

You and the only 20k+ of us...

Until like Diakite he gets a run of games it's hard to really judge him the same with Cole who only ever gets 15 or 20 mins when we are killing the game

Brunt confirms post match that Dobbins is back at Villa.

"@SteveHermon
Chris Brunt confirms to me that #AVFC have recalled Lewis Dobbin from his loan spell with #WBA. It ends with just 1 league start and not much else to show for it. A disappointing deal for all parties.

The full interview with Brunt will be posted via @sportbbcwm asap!"

Hurrah great start to our window

He's not a left back but he's doing an alright job there. Wouldn't mind him playing in the midfield eventually. Great goal from the best training ground botch up we will ever see

Clinical first half and we sat off second and gradually got worse the more of the stiffs we brought on.

Diakite second good performance how on earth have we persisted with racic for so long? Wallace I don't think touched the ball first 20 minutes he was on then he had one little run down a blind alley and then he gave the ball away for the goal. He really is a spent force. Diangana ineffective as ever. Cole didn't really get any of the ball but I still reserve judgement on him until he plays with some competent players around him.

On to the next one

Wasn't that polish mf Krovovac or whatever his name was who we paid £100k a week on loan from PSG under Pulis, also fond of cryptic messages on social media.

What is with very average mfs and their egos, nobody knows who you are and even less care. If you concentrated on your game as much as you do on your social media someone might care.

I forgot mf meant midfielder whilst reading this. Very similar comparisons in their play and attitude (obviously Polish Greg was levels above) but both seem uninterested in the gritty stuff and the fight and just seeing it as an extended holiday and collecting their money

I believe it about Holgate…. But it’s Everton who cover the lion’s share of the cost.

Be amazed if we are paying more than 30-40% of Holgates wage. We might even be paying as little as 20% Everton just needed to get some of it off the books

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Josh Maja joins Albion

He has got one or two superb goals and of course a few others but I don't think you generally get a lot of effectiveness from him
Over the years we have lost the services of far better young strikers such as Bull,Wood and yet to be proved Barry,Azoz and Rogers.
I would rather sell him and spend on young up and coming fast athletic strikers.

Maja is a very clever player. His hold up and link play is very good but he doesn't make goals for himself he is very reliant on Fellows in particular. If you lose Fellows he becomes a poor man's Marc Antoine Fortune- great work ethic and hold up but not enough goals.

Find another finisher somebody who can get on end of crosses and retain Fellows the system will continue to work.

As Maja has looked jaded I would actually give Cole a start and see if with the right creative influences around him he can do anything or if he is as many presume a waste of space at this lebel

Unlucky for the second time not to beat these lot this season.
Molumby diakite and styles very good. Same as when Carlos was manager soon as we go to the bench it unravels as we lack quality from there. Hopefully we can get some dross out this window and allow whoever the boss is to strengthen.

Good performance after the derby match follow up with win v PNE and it looks a very good point then
