West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Tony Mowbray appointed as Head Coach
« on: February 16, 2025, 06:45:05 PM »Taking this all in perspective. In the summer we lost; Kipre, Okay, Townsend, BTA, Phillips who were all first teamers we have since lost Palmer and Maja has gotten injured. We have brought in younger hungrier players and brought the wage bill down.
This summer we have a chance to get rid of Swift, Diangana & Ajayi. We should try get shot of the likes of Cole & Frambotta if we arent going to use them. Mowbray needs to get through to summer so he can finish his rebuild.
Mowbray will find his system and his personnel, it's slowly getting there. We still lack a specialist left back. Eventually he will know diakite is his mulumbu and that Fellows and MJ have to play or we have no threat. This season was always a free hit and it still is. Yes mowbray has 2 wins in 6. But the team only have 11 wins in 33. They really aren't that good collectively- carrying too many bits of deadwood. Keep the faith.
By and large I agree, except for two things:
1) It will be Nestor/Pearce's rebuild, not Mowbray's
2) Mulumbu only played 250 minutes under Mowbray (in the Premier League). It was RDM that really brought Mulumbu to the fore
