I really don’t appreciate you calling my comments and my mindset naive...not at all  >:(

Formation wise, what has that got to do with my comments??

Regardless of the formation he played Man City we’re going to have a lot of shots, as they did, which is why I said Johnstone gave us the draw, not the tactics of Bilic.
[/b]

So your not giving credit to bilic for getting a draw at Man City, your saying Johnstone gave us the draw.... yet if we got turned over 4/5 nil no doubt it would have been down to the manager, his tactics and team selection  ::) ???

Laughable.

Yes I still am.

Are you still writing off a manager with over 500 top flight games to his name after 72 hours in the job?

No, I’m not writing him off after 72 hours in a job, I’ve had the same opinion on him since before he was at our club, he plays terrible ‘football’ if you can call it that and doesn’t guarantee anything more than our last manager.

There’s a reason fans from his previous clubs all feel the same way about him, he just fits into that pulis category hence why only clubs like us go in for them. Any club that has even a pinch of ambition steer clear of these type of managers.

We lost 5-1 to Palace BA.

Both performances AFTER the red cards far worse than tonight.

Are you really still trying to justify tonight?

We started the game with zero intention, we were very poor, we were very slow against a side who only played on Thursday and made them look like Barcelona in their prime, our one and only game plan was to sit back and hoof it at any given chance ( we ain’t done that all season so your theory about Sam not having time is bull), we were terrible with 11 men and completely embarrassing with 10 men.

Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

Had we kept bilic, we would have probably got relegated the way things were going, but we would have saw our team of a average players giving it a go, under allerdyce we have the same chances of staying up/going down but only we are going to see dire football for the rest of his time here, sitting back and relying on hoof balls that ain’t going to work.

How ridiculous.

I think it’s far too early to be judging Big Sam’s impact. Villa look very sharp and when did McGinn get so fast?!

No it’s not.

Everyone with open eyes can see big sams style, everyone with knowledge of football knows this appointment is ridiculous..... the next few games will verify that.

If Bilic gets the sack, it just shows the only direction the club is heading.

Seriously done with this club with the way its being run with these clowns we call our owners.  The people who believe there is someone available and willing to come to us that could do a better job are just as deluded as the board.

Joshua's such a strange fighter. Generally wins his fights quite comfortably, but never convincingly.

Joshua vs Klitschko is still one of the best sporting events i've seen, mainly due to the brilliant Whyte v Chisora fight that warmed up the crowd in the packed pub I watched it in and the drama of the back and forth, yet since then i've been really underwhelmed.

Takam and Parker were comfortable and yet not particularly statement wins, while Povetkin may have been ahead for many when Joshua put him away. 2 Ruiz fights later and now tonight, Joshua seems to have stopped truely dominating his opponents.

Maybe I just expect too much - Wilder rarely if ever looked great in his wins - but it feels like Joshua's momentum has really slowed now.

Part of me wonders if he may well finish 4th of 4 if there were to be a round robin of Fury, Wilder and Uysk.

Wilder shouldn't even be mentioned in the top 4 boxers, he's not a boxers just a guy who can punch whos only fought bums until he came against fury.

I tend to agree with those who think that we will be unable to replace Bilic with someone capable of keeping us up. We should however, be able to find someone who can improve our shocking defence with structure and coaching. Someone who can identify his best team and system to suit . Bilic's random team selections and shocking in-game management will surely damage the confidence and application of our players further. Many of us are accepting that we are on our way back to the Championship next season, and most think that we will go down with the basis of a very good team for that level, raring to get back to the Premier League. We need to get our better players performing to a level where they actually believe that they can come back ready next time irrespective of results. The players are not good enough but they can be better.
SGM's first team in the Premier League were poor but they achieved 24 points. Under Bilic as these players confidence and performances drop we will not get near that.

We need to make a change.

Whilst I agree with most of your post, our defence is a shambles and that ain't down to the organisation... its purely because they are just rubbish defenders. All the coaching in the world ain't going to improve them.

A lot of our fans didn’t want him back. Too old, injury prone, doesn’t score at this level. He’s head and shoulders above the donkeys we currently have.

A lot of our fans don't know what they are talking about... You would think they are paying for signings out of their own pocket the way some of them talk.

Not signing our best goalscorer when we had chance was ridiculous... Today he came back to haunt us. Instead, the money he would have cost we have wasted on a complete bag of ****

Our defence is embaressing, can't see what the hype around Oshea is and ivanovic shouldn't be playing in the prem (once again west brom taking on has-beens in the hope they turn out well)

Sort out that defence and we would have a good chance of not conceding the most goals in the league by the end of the season.

You can have great players to select from and still be a poor manager.

At this moment in time, Slaven doesn't have great players to select from.

He has a bunch of average players with 2/3 exceptions.

It's clear how you feel about Slav, but even great managers like Klopp and Pep would struggle making our current squad look like a comfortable premier league side that ain't facing a relegation battle.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side is what alot of fans need to realise.

My post was an error re Brighton game as I meant Fulham. We could have won the Brighton game in the second half.

Happy for Slav, that was a long time coming. Just wish we could stretched the measly budget by another £5m to get Toney in too, but Austin staying didn't help I suppose.

MP played well as emergency LB, Billy Big bx game gibbs can't be bothered. Sooner he leaves the better.

Comical.

Let’s all demand he breaks the rules in place set out by the government in terms of COVID shall we  ::)

I've been unimpressed with him and posted on his weaknesses. However this season he's been the goalkeeper I wished we could sign. He's been brilliant. We'll done Sam, well done coaches.

Don't buy into the fact the Premier league suits his game better, he's just been better. Look at Sheffield Corners last night, they surrounded Sam and his six yard box and he handles it well.

Agree with this.

No matter how he plays, you will always get the few people that have to play down just how good he has played... some people just have to desperately search for negatives regardless, which is very common on here.

Bham Mail have given him 10/10 and made a point of the fact he punched a corner away. Calm down lads. Hes playing much better but a 10 is a joke.

Guess you didn't watch the game then.

If it wasn't for him tonight, we still wouldn't have a win in the prem this season.

I'd pay it, don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be.
Considering how much attending a game costs and no travel expense its relatively cheap to watch my club on a reliable service.

So for the people that have sky sports on their package and paying the 30/40quid per month extra on their bill or whatever it is for their services, its not that bad that last season they could press the red button and choose from 6 games to watch... but now we are in a pandemic, people are losing jobs, people have been furloughed with reduced pay etc etc... sky taking advantage of the no fans in stadiums situation and expecting people to pay £15 per game even if they currently pay for sky sports isn't that bad? it's daylight robbery and they get away with it because people will still pay it yet give it a couple of seasons and the same fans will be on the terraces signing 'F*ck sky tv'  ??? ::) ::)

It wouldn't be half as bad if they did it in a way where if you pay for sky sports each month you get the games and just charge the people that don't pay for it, pay the £15 per game or whatever they want to charge, but they ain't and won't because they can rinse the people that will just throw their money at them doing it this way.

A season ticket in the Brummie was £329, that's less that 15 quid in the championship per game and only 17 quid in the premier league per game. To pay the same to not attend is not really relatively cheap is it?

Anyone paying the £15? Not a chance for me

Not a chance.

The people that do pay it are the reason sky can continue to take the pee. It's a mugs game.

You argue that getting the same players as last year is not a positive, but then say that we have a good manager....this being the same manager that wanted the same players as last year
You then state that Ivanovic is older than Gods dog....but again it’s the same manager that wanted him in, even ensuring that the local press absolutely knew that the signing of Kipre (not as old as Gods Dog) was not one he was behind ...

Funny isn’t it how some see things?

So based on your way of seeing things, the current squad is what Slav wanted? although he has stressed numerous times that we NEED more quality? which tells anyone with an ounce of common sense that he isn't happy with the current squad for the premier league. He said after our last dreadful performance that we NEED more quality... if he is being backed why haven't we saw any new faces when it's clear to see how poor we are as a team?  I'm not saying its not a positive getting them back but with promotion to a tougher league, getting those players back was essential to keep our team which then should be built on... that's down to the owners to invest, not Bilic.

This has been a regular occurrence from when JP was running the show all the way through to now with this Clown we have pulling the strings, appalling transfer windows that leave us left behind and struggling to compete in the league we were desperate to get into.

JP didn't want to invest in the club and clearly stated he wanted a buyer that would keep the club going the way it has been going... the only difference is, JP probably cared about the club but didn't want to put his hand in his pocket... where as now, we have an owner who doesn't care about the club, doesn't want to put his hand in his pocket and probably doesn't even know what colours we play in.. its a farce.

Really?
Diangana just for one example

Getting us our championship squad back that struggled to be the best in the league, by paying for Diangana in installments and taking Krov back on loan... that's what you would call backing your manager? add to that, Ivanovic who is older than God's dog and Gallagher on loan who could be our harvey barnes for this season or just as much chance of him being a complete flop for us.

We could ALL see how much we struggled at the back end of last season and upto now with our performances and results in the prem so far and our activity in the transfer window so far, anyone who thinks Slav is being backed is deluded.

People (on here included) have slated and laughed at clubs such as wolves and villa who have spend a crazy amount compared to us.... yet those same teams look like they can compete in the league, I wouldn't even have faith in us competing in the championship again.

We have a handful of decent players and a decent manager, but unfortunately its bein run by complete clowns who don't give a sh*t and the bang average players out number the decent ones we have.

I was watching the goals back again today. It looks even worse in the cold light of day.

Everton's first goal: slow chip from Coleman into our six yard box, and Furlong under pressure from Richarlison heads it towards our goal. Johnstone should have come off his line and claimed the initial cross into the box.

Everton's third goal: Set piece. Cross into the six yard box, again the keeper could have claimed the ball, rooted to his line. Header straight at him, he pushed it straight in front of him. The initial header was fairly weak, he could have caught it.

Everton's fourth goal: Rodriquez very slowing dinks the ball over our defence (which was already deep on the 18 yard line). The ball is high in the air and dropping from height inside the six yard box. Johnstone had all day to come off his line and catch the ball. He didn't, Richardson squared it for a tap-in.

Everton's fifth goal: Corner into the six yard box. Free header. Again keeper could have come caught the. cross.

A commanding keeper stops 4/5 goals we conceded yesterday. An average keeper stops 3/5.

The other noticeable point from watching the goals back carefully is how awful Sawyers was at even pretending to mark his man, it was like he was scared of getting hit, marking Richarlison as well, complete miss-match.

I've re watched the highlights too.

He just looks lost, he hasn't got a pair of balls to be the demanding type. He don't know wether to palm the ball away, catch it, punch it away or anything. Opposition strikers must have an erection when warming up knowing we have him in goal.

Tony Pulis?  ;D

As above, I don’t think he should be sacked but something needs to change.

We lack confidence and that can’t be down to lack of signings.

We were lucky to get promoted and it’s carried on into this season.

Lack confidence? What are you on?

It’s Purely just a lack of quality... the back line including the keeper have been a disgrace in both games and Livermore is just like a raging bull.

Get Gallagher in the squad, sort that back line out and get button in goal and no doubt we will see a difference. After all it can’t get any worse.

Number 1 priority for me, even above the strikers. This guy is woeful.

I will be very surprised if Foster isn't back at the club in the next 6 weeks.

Foster in 10 years time with his gammy knees would still be far better than Johnstone.

Can’t see it happening though unfortunately.

Remember when we had Pulis and some of you (you know who you are) said, "I don't care if we get relegated so long as we are entertained"?

Well, are you not entertained!

Comical.

If we had pulis in our dugout today it would be 7-0.
