For those talking about 'pulisball', i assume that if we go back over all the posts you have made on this site, ZERO of them will be moaning at a manager for saying we played well despite losing and that youre not interested in performance, its results that matter.

Not a massive fan of Brunt.  I've always thought he's better as a winger, but even then he cant beat his man and his deliveries have been woeful for the past couple of years.  Not to mention his set pieces.  My head drops when he stands over a free kick.  We might get one good one a season from him.

Having said all that, he has been our best player since Mel came in.  Everything is going through him, his passing is positive and his deliveries are much better.  Himself and Anichebe have been the two players that have visibly improved.

Some people love Brunt, great.  Some people hate Brunt, great.  But if you step back and look purely at performances I dont see how you could say he hasnt been one of our best players recently.

Maybe everything is rosey? With the only issue being that the players on the pitch simply arnt good enough and Mel needs his chance to build his own squad in the summer.

The same set of players haven't been much cop under two different managers with two different systems.

I see improvements under Mel.  I like what he is trying to do, but he is trying to do it with players that arn't good enough and if thats the case, of course the players will whinge and blame somebody else rather than themselves.

Man 1 tells Man 2 that as captain, Chris Brunt sat down with Pepe Mel to discuss the way forward for the rest of the season.

Man 2 tells man 3 that he cant name names, but a certain player has had words with Mel about how the tactics are working and how we are going to survive.

Man 3 tells man 4 that he's heard that the players are questioning Mel's tactics and that they have confornted him, probably whilst in Spain.

Man 4 tells man 5 that he's heard that it sounds like it all kicked off in Spain between Mel and the players.  And this Dave bloke was involved too so he must be involved in absolutly everything at the club and is plotting a sinister downfall because he's a closet villa fan.

Theres a million and three ways that this could have been blown up.  Usually it comes with a quote that is misinterpreted.  This story doesnt even come with a quote!!

Everyones opinion is different, but my favourite Albion manager in recent times is Tony Mowbray.  The moaners go on about tippy tappy football, but he gave us very entertaining football, winning the championship in the process. You got your moneys worth going to a game them.

Mel is similar. If we go down I can see us playing some fantastic stuff.  If we stay up it'll be a very interesting season.  Score loads, concede loads, proper rollercoaster.  Might as well enjoy ourselves if the best we can do is finish 8th!

note: tippy tappy = possession.

Not sure how many of you have run a business or understand business but spending more than you earn without a definite planned way of paying it back is not a good move.

This probably applies to football more than "normal" business where you can spend £10 million on a player and he can get injured or turn out to be rubbish within weeks of joining.

The day Peace leaves is the day I say be careful what you wish for.  The grass isn't always greener.

Peace is a disgrace.  We were a nothing Division 1 club when he took over and look at us now.  Shame in him.

His failure has been bringing us the most success possible with our budget.  There isnt really anywhere else to go above the 8th we managed last seasons.  Success brings out some very ugly traits in many supporters.  It seems they are most happy when we are little old Albion loitering around division 1.

Step back and think.  These are actually good times!!!  If you are not enjoying being an albion fan now, why bother?  We're having a rough season, woopertyfuckingdoo.  We cant finish 8th every season.

A mid table Charlton did us a favour with a late goal against Palace that day.  Fancy swapping with them?

Same old same old every year.  Negativaty......then we finish 8th.........but it doesn't count because we did collect those points in an even manner over the whole season.

Rosenburg is technically a new striker.  Anelka is world class.  We could do with one more, maybe Vydra.

There was nothing at all wrong with our defense last season.  It would be great to strengthern with a full back and a centreback, but it isnt vital.

Another midfielder is probably required, one that will improve the attacking side of this section of the pitch for us.

I appear to be in the minority in that I'm looking forward to another season of following the Albion in the premier league.  Some people forget to enjoy following the albion.  Think back to the 90s.

I thought he had a poor game today, we should have had a corner today, felt Williams should have been punished more. Didn't really see the penalty so cant comment on that.

Cheers Wenger :)

I think we got off lightly when our only moan is that we didn't get a corner.  An 86th minute legit goal ruled out would probably be a tad more frustrating.

He seemed to be talking to the St Johns people so hopefully it wasn't too serious.

I hope the bloke behind me who spends 90 minutes slagging Brunt off every week picks up something serious though.

To be honest, my matchday experience is normally ruined by the tosspots behind me who constantly moan about Brunt and Rosenburg every game.

The abuse came for Pete today, so by choice, I would have liked us to win 3-0, with Pete, Brunt and Rosenburg scoring one each.  That would be a perfect time for me to tell them to pee off  rather than abuse out players and subject my lugholes to pointless swearing every 12 seconds.

I stayed silent when Pete came on today, just because if he scored I'd be wildly celebrating an Albion goal, so I'd look  a bit of a tit if I'd do that after booing the bloke thats scored it.

He'll go to QPR.

QPR will get relegated.

Redknapp will leave.

Odemwingie is left in Championship with a sh*t manager.

I'll laugh!

Saw something asking about whether Brunt's legs have gone, although he never really had any pace.

It just reminded me of a stat that baffles me.

Pretty much every time you read the match report in the sun, it shows that Brunt has covered the most distance out of any Albion player on the pitch.  I jus cant work out how that can be true.  I've always seen Brunt as a stand and deliver type of players.  He typically looks for the killer pass....then stands still.

He just never seems to cover that much ground or do that much running, so how the hell does he cover more ground than anyone else most weeks?

I dont even think its silly. It would be silly if he had posted it publicly on twitter.

A laugh between him and himself, but his mate had obviously forwarded it on to some less trustworthy people at some point.

Why do people just assume that Villa will always be bigger than Albion?

Their big local derby, and their attendance was 34'000 today.   If our stadium was bigger, I can't see us being too far off that.  We're travelling in the right direction, Villa are going backwards.

We've already overtaken them on the pitch, other aspects will soon follow if the current trends continue.

He looks like a bald Johnny Vaughn!!

Other refs would have dished out a load of yellow's, so he did well to keep his cards in his pocket in a game that didn't need cautions.

I also liked the way he held his hands up and apologised when he should haveplayed advantage for Villa towards the end.
