West Brom intend on retaining back-room staff members Gary Megson and Ben Garner regardless of who their new manager is, the Birmingham Mail understands - the latter of whom has expressed a desire previously to become a boss himself.

No no no  :o :o

Could also read into this that the chairman and board believed that Pulis was the only issue in the setup. Perhaps Megson and Garner had differing opinions and ideas but Pulis stuck to his guns (losing the players as well as his staff), and they've had a word with the hierarchy about it.

I do get your point but megson is way way out of his depth in the premier league and shouldn't be anywhere near the club
Why do you say that? I believe the man needs a 10 game run out.He may surprise us.

Grateful to Megson for what he did for the club, but his days are done & he now falls into the dinosaur category

What if........
Megson has an epiphany and comes out all guns blazing against Tottingham? Drops a couple of DM's, brings in some firepower and gets a fantastic win? After match speech says that, working with Pulis has made him realise that he hates pooh football and is going all out to win every game from now on.
How good would that be.

I would imagine it's because when he has managed in the premier league he has been out of his depth.
He was 6 years without a job surely if he was that good he would have been offered plenty of jobs some of which that would have appealed to him?

I had the same dream!! Then I woke up and remembered how stubborn he is and how the players complained about his boring training methods. He is in the TP dinosaur mould. He deserves his day at Wembley and even a lucky win but he is not the long term solution we are hoping for.

Then what a send off that would be for him.

Unfortunately I feel he will put forward a watered down style of Pulis.
A drip here and a drop there.

Gary Megson has told Ben Garner he will not be needed at the training ground this week due to a clash of coaching methods. But reports of a player revolt about the decision are unfounded #wba

Very poor from GM, seems to be a bit bitter about the sacking of ‘my mate Tony’.

Would have preferred Garner coaching the team to be honest.

Megson should have left when TP did.

He stated in an interview that he only wanted to work with his pal Tone, and had no intention of working with any new coach/manager. Looks like he doesn’t want to work with anyone. He should never have come back. His Knighthood is beginning to become a little tarnished now.

In fairness none of us know the full situation regarding Garner but Megson is currently in charge so what he says goes. Hopefully it'll only be one or two games before they get someone else in.

He can rant and rave before the match, and in the technical area, but if the players want to play football, what can he do?
He is another "dead man walking".

Fickle,Fickle,Fickle why should anything be tarnished? What he did for us was nothing short of a miracle will always be a legend to me. He shouldnt have come back though because comments like this where bound to be made. I hope nobody starts having a pop at him on saturday.
