Thats a shame for the Saddlers. I hope they get someone in who's half decent.
Knowing them Chrisy Nicol will fill in in the interim. Megson would be great for them.

He needs to better himself to be honest he had a job for life almost at Walsall.

Walsall will miss him both as a manager and the role he did for the club as a whole.

Megson would be a nightmare.

They're a team of footballers at Walsall, not 6ft bullies.

Thats true, however would still be funny. Someone shouted Mickey Mellon, him and  Neil Cutler duo would be another Albion blast from the 90s

O’Driscoll it is then for Walsall. Good fit IMO and hopefully he can finish the good work Smith started.

Been meaning to post this since last Saturday. Did anyone else see Merson talking about his time managing Walsall on Soccer Saturday?

He basically said he only used to get out of his seat to send instructions onto the pitch to keep the supporters sitting near him happy. Seems he would only bother doing it if the opposition manger did it, as if he didn't the fans thought he wasn't working.

Then he went on to say that they " don't have a brain between them."

Nice to know he has such regard for the fans who pay his wages.

TBH, Mersons opinions are hardly likely to worry anyone are they?

Your point about his lack of respect for those paying his wages, demonstrates more about his own intelligence than it says about the fans.

You're spot on of course, it just annoyed me that he felt he could say it on national TV with no concern about being pulled up for it. I was also cheesed off that the othe plums on the panel all laughed when he said it. Seemed a popular view.

Relegated to League Two after 12 years in League One.

The heavy defeat in 2003 with Merson running the show seems a long time ago!

Jorge Leitao tipped to take over as next Manager.

Lost 7 on the bounce.  1 win in 13.

They're in serious trouble.   They've had a serious nose dive as they were touching on the play offs at one point.
