Not great to watch in parts but Cardiff made it difficult for us I think. Anyway, another 3 points keeping us in the race.

Southampton will be a wounded animal I fear.

Yes it is on sky!

Welcome and good luck CM.

I don't know anything about him.

Does anyone know if he is quick?

Official site report  describes him as “the pacey forward” so I’d hope so.

Four months. Ouch.

Poor guy. Must be so frustrating for him - and terrible for us to lose him and his versatility.

Philogene (ex villa) has been ruled out for them.

That’s good for us as he’s been superb lately.

That’s what I assumed but when I read the terms and conditions it suggested that you had to be resident in that country. As my Albion account has me registered to my home address I didn’t know whether it would allow me to purchase the game. I suppose I can just try - if not I’ll be watching Premier League football of some description in a bar.

Last time I looked at it, it was to do with where the card you paid with is registered. So theoretically if you met a friendly local who wanted to pay it on their card for you whilst you drank in their bar…….I never tested this though!

Completely agree. I’d noticed him when he was on loan at Millwall and he looked excellent. I was pretty happy when we first signed him.

Then wondered if I’d mixed him up with someone else as he looked nowhere near it for the majority of last season.

Really come into his own now and he can do a bit of pretty much everything.

Only 23 as well.

He’s got that bit of bite and ability to wind people up which can put him at a booking risk quite often but I love his drive and energy.

Can’t find the usual £10 link to watch the game. Only £2.50 for radio commentary.  Anyone else found it?

Doesn’t seem to be one. It’s on ESPN channel 15

Thanks for rpelying.

Yeah it's only about 120 mile round trip for me and the cost puts me off. Probably cheaper for you to fly down   ;D

No worries. Yeah I try and time my visits to see the family with home game weekends. Cost is astronomical now for a round trip. Flying just a bit of a pain and not much difference in time overall really - like you say probably better price wise though!

Shame as would be good to see how the younger players get on. Think I saw something about not wanting to risk Molumby so perhaps it will be TGH and Livermore in the middle with Ingram at RB.

Was there a stream for the last cup game?

I'm half tempted to drive there for a tenner. Petrol will be another matter  ;D

No there was nothing at all. Something to do with sky holding the rights and not providing any kind of live broadcast- hence no one picking it up on a stream.

Think it will be the same again.

I’d go for a tenner….but my drive is from Glasgow so petrol would be a problem for me as well  :D

Hard for me to nip down given I live in Glasgow  ;D

Exactly the same situation for me Frazzle! 😂. Not even in the same country as the club I support so you’d think there should be some legal way to watch it. It’s basically the same as nipping to Tenerife

Gone for Grant but in truth it could have been just about anybody, they did their jobs that well . Be interested to know who Sky gave it to ?

Sky gave it to TGH

Delighted with that. Superb first half with the usual problem of not being able to put the ball in the net.

Then the Robinson / Grant combo kicks in. I’m not tactically minded and I can’t really identify what’s suddenly clicked but maybe it is just confidence. Also the energy TGH brings is blatantly obvious.

Cautiously optimistic.

I’m not going to say I’m happy with it. But I think I’m satisfied with it.

We were never going to pay compensation for someone else.

I think it’s a needs must appointment for the current time and he gets my support.

He can only blame the players if he's tried everything possible to get the best out of them, he hasn't he's just done the same thing over and over, despite it clearly not working for MONTHS! We are not talking a blip here, this has gone on for an incredible amount of time.
If he'd tried, 433, 352, 442 or anything else, either starting or as a reaction to what is happening in front of his eyes, and it still didn't work, he may get some slack, but he's just too limited. Or stubborn.

ALL of the players can't be rubbish, surely?
He's tried every combination of a front 3, or a back 3, every senior CM has had a crack and both experienced pro's and young newcomers have tried, yet nothing has worked and he STILL insists on this rigid 343. It's just bizarre.
He simply hasn't tried anything to halt this slide, despite his words, his actions just remain the same.
Never has there been a more obvious case of "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" Whoever said it, the answer is the same. MADNESS.

This is exactly how I feel. Brilliantly put.

I’d have sympathy if he was trying different things. He clearly can’t or just won’t.

Either way, that alone screams get rid now. It’s not going to get any better.

I thought Val had “seen the light” or some other rubbish? What’s different? Nothing as far as I can see. Was he just pandering and saying the right things whilst changing utterly nothing?

I foresee Robinson for Carroll on 60mins and no change to formation or style….

I’ve been trying to work out if I’m being harsh and if it really should be about him being given time to build his own side.

If the club have this 4 year plan then that’s what they’ve intended and it suggests he’s going nowhere soon.

But I just keep coming back to the fact that he shows absolutely zero tactical nous, flexibility or willingness to adapt. Overall that is pretty terrifying. Even the awful managers we’ve had in the past at least tried different things.

I think the only thing he did was slightly change the intensity of the press. However now we’re left with something which seemingly no one (including the players) knows what it is.

Even on the own players front - Mowatt knows him and how he plays. Mowatt looks completely abject, not even in the games. Not one player he’s been involved in bringing in (I’m excluding Dike here for obvious reasons) has looked up to it.

So I just cannot see this improving - there are huge red flags.

We can all agree the players aren’t performing for whatever reason- but a good (even decent) manager gets players performing- including sub standard players.

I just can’t see him being sacked. I absolutely think he should be to save any further damage but I just don’t see it……The 4 year contract, all the noises about continuity and building, not making short term decisions.

It all points to him sitting pretty on his four year contract. Basically he’s in a win win situation.

I actually think he’s coached any creativity out of the players. They’ve actually got worse and I lay that firmly at his door.

We’ve appointed someone who has no clue how to set up a team, a one dimensional philosophy (which doesn’t work) and who has no idea of what to do next.

I don’t think you could call it a formation.

It’s 5 guys at the back who try to kick it as far up the pitch as they can to no one in particular.

2 guys in the middle who run around a bit but don’t usually get the ball and when they do they lose it.

And 3 guys further up who are not really sure what’s going on as the ball sails over their heads or any runs they make aren’t found.

This is just abject dross. Zero creativity.

This is what you get when your system relies on wing backs to create chances but you just lump it up in the vague direction of the corners.

Talking of corners, have we ever been this bad at them before?

Complete cowardice to drop players who did well in the last two and go back to the old guard.

Players didn’t help him but the decision not to take off a useless Hugill was abysmal.

What message does it send out to the players who came in and did well?

Last two games we had energy and movement. He’s actually removed that with his team selection. I know naff all about football tactics but it’s even blatantly obvious to me.

I cannot understand how Hugill stays on. This is now a serious issue with Ismael. How does he not see this?
